Nice! Curious about the 502ci; why your chioce on a carb version? I have a friend that put the FI version in a 71 Camaro a couple years ago. It is really sweet. GM though, had isues with the FI software, which affected how it ran. Took almost two years to get the code right.

He has same issue with the back tires. Aint no way to keep it hooked up with limited tire size required by the small fenderwells. Without tubbing it, you just can't get enough meat under there to handle the power /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Cool! A '71 Camaro. I had a '70 Z28 with the 302 engine. Yes, most people think only Ford made the 302, but that is what was in my Camaro from GM.

Since I've spent hundreds of hours under a '70 Camaro, I'd assume your friend did major frame mods to put a 502 in. Unless I'm mistaken, the '71 Camaro was like my '70 and did not have a full frame. They only had a "half frame" that ended under the driver's seat. Mine ate clutches because there was actually flex between the front of the car and the rear of the car. When I pushed down the clutch pedel, the gap between the driver's door and fender widened. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif No, mine had never been wrecked. That is just how they were built. With a 502 efi, he would had to have modified the frame. Otherwise the front of the car would practically twist off under the torque. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif P.S. My big block '70 Nova isn't much different. And, I went with the carb version of the 502 so I didn't have to screw with any of the electronics and I knew I was going to do a few mods to it before it was installed that the efi would have not made possible. I'll have to get some pics of my '67 Camaro and post them. But, it is just beginning the resto process. It may be a while. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
