4WD JOHN DEERE 4500 COMPACT TRACTOR ISSUE

I HAVE A 1999 4500 JD THAT WHILE IN 2WD AND GOING IN REVERSE FOR MORE THAT 30 FEET THE LEVER WILL SLIP UP INTO 4WD ON IT'S OWN. HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS? iI HAVE TO CONSTANTLY HOLD IT DOWN OR CHECK IF WANTING TOO USE 2WD. THANKS AND BESAFE.

Should be able to follow the linkage back and I believe there is a threaded rod that you can adjust tension. Not a difficult task.
