Hey,
I have a 84 Ford 1710 and recently have been having issues with the three point settling once the tractor is shut down. Seems to be specific to the three point as the loader stays up just fine. I have also noticed that there is a distinctive pulsing in the hyd system and I can see the hose leading to the rear "jumpin" with the pulsing. Am I correct to assume the "o" rings are failing on the valve located under the front of the seat , Flow control valve?
If so, What is the correct procedure for replacement?
If not, Where should I look next?
Any help would be great!

Okay, No response to the post so I went ahead with the repair blind. Here is what I found and the process I used. Not saying it is correct or the "right" way but here goes...
1. remove the six head bolts for the control valve (located under the seat).

2. remove the unit by pulling it out using care to keep it in line to avoid damage. The book shows just the head coming off, on mine the whole unit came out.

3. I inverted the unit and the piston came sliding out.
4. Using scrapers, I was able to separate the Piston housing from the head.

5. Here you can see the culprit! and the new seal installed.

6. Parts all cleaned and ready for install.

7. I use a stick to help with alignment of the push rod.

8. I slid the Piston housing over the stick using care to align the push rod. Slide the Piston Housing in.

9. Install the piston using care not to damage the new seal.

10 Reinstall the head and torque the bolts down, my book says 55-65 ft/#'''s
All in all it is a fairly simple job. If I had to do it again it would be done in under an hour. Here are the three seals for this job along with the parts bag which has the part numbers on them.

Hopes this helps someone!

Soundguy,
Me Too! Either way, once I made the commitment, all went well. Most importantly, it worked after putting it all back together.
Thanks,

So that is under the seat? I have a TC45 doing the same thing. The problem is that getting to it is a major problem as the seat is mounted on a platform. Anyone else ever have to deal with this problem on a TC type machine? P. S. Nice thread love the pictures.
