Kubota BX24
Well the fender broke yesterday as I was climbing on the tractor on my BX24. Looks like my dealer is well aware of the issues and fixes, so they will be ordering the new parts once they have confirmation of serial numbers and such.

For those of you that broke the fenders in the past, did you continue to use the tractor? Anything I should watch out for? I have a lot of work planned for the next couple weeks, and not sure how long it will take to get the parts.

Going to get the 50 hour service done at the same time, unless there are issues with getting it done early.

The BX cracking issue has been documented here on TBN in a long thread. Kubota issued a fix and redesigned the fenders. Yours is obviously one of the units that was produced and went through the distribution/sales process after the problem was created but before it was identified. Kubota issued a notice to dealers so you should not have any problems getting it fixed.

While the cracks have not been reported as a safety problem, you might want to be careful that you don't cut yourself on the edges? Its good that it broke early in the life cycle so you can get it handled at the same time as the 50 hour service.

Spoke with the dealer. He has the fender in stock, but needs to order the foot support kit or what ever it is called. Everything is covered except the transportation. Looks like it will get fixed the week of the 16th as both I and the head service guy at my dealership are out of town next week.

My fender cracked around 60 hours, in October or November of '06. I just called my dealer yesterday (April) as I didn't want to lay the tractor up during snow. Now is a perfect time to send it in as well, as I do not have the MMM on yet.

The dealer (Middlefield Farm & Garden) always has one fender on hand and a foot bracket kit on hand for such a case as mine. Pickup and Delivery is covered under warranty along with the fender.

Dealer says he wishes Kubota would send owners a letter about the foot brackets, so he could install them on everyone's 'bota under warranty.

I hope the dealer puts new decals on my new fender under warranty. Anybody know if they do?

It's my understanding that the "new and improved" fender as well as the support kit will be installed by the dealer for units under warranty, all paid for by Kubota.

Is this the general understanding?

Dick, only if they break. What I heard was it is a "fix if broken policy" so go out there and jump on that fender.

My dealer sent a serviceman to to my house. It's not a hard replacement.

I can't seem to get mine to break. Figured the cold would be ideal, but couldn't get it to go.

Left side right where the fender goes under the floor pan.

I have an early model BX24 produced before the fender fixes. My fenders have not broken yet. I only weigh 160 lbs. I have a question for everyone. Will Kubota repair the fenders if they break after the warranty period, say two to four years from now?????

I see guys telling others to jump on the fenders to get them to break etc. I don't wanna have the fenders break 4-5 years from now and not have them covered under warranty. But I'm not about to break the fenders on purpose either.

I've scheduled a 100 hr service for next week. I plan to have a leaky hose connection and the seat warranty repair done.

YOU GUYS ON HERE ARE THE BEST AND A VERY HELPFUL BUNCH !!

I have 140hrs, on my BX24 and it has not broken. It looks week but i weigh 280 and it is holding so far . I wish it was like my old BX2200. That thing was solid. I figure mine will break as soon as the warranty expires. I have had the plastics around the engine replaced twice keeps breaking the tab where the had tightened fastner is, then it slides against the muffler and melts it. Its broken again right now..

The black plastic near the exhaust pipe also melted on my tractor because the black knob under the hood that you tighten to keep the engine cover from moving keeps coming loose. Was your repair covered under warranty?

Thanks

I'm just getting the fender reinforcemnt kit from the dealer and going to do it myself. I'd rather do that then have to replace the whole fender and do the kit just because I can.
