John Deere 2240 MFWD
I just bought my first tractor. It's a John Deere 2240. I hooked a 8ft black blade on it and raised it up to go and grade the driveway. When I lower the control lever it take about five minutes for the 3 point to lower. Anybody have any suggestions besides ordering an operators manual?

Just answered your other thread...Please do not double post questions-it make it very hard to help you when answers are spread out all over the place.

On my Kubota there's a valve that you can turn under the seat that controls the rate of speed for the 3 point hitch drop.

Correct, there should be a valve knob that controls the 3pt hitch up and down movement, fast or slow.

A rake may give cause to lower slowly.

A plow may give cause to drop quickly so as to "dig in."
