still looking
After reading (and reading and reading some more) comments on this website, and driving both the above and CK25 new tractors, I now have a few questions of my own for any 2615 gear TLB owners.

The CK25 has a forward/reverse shuttle; the 2615 doesn't. How do the 2615 owners find shifting and working the tractor/FEL without the shuttle? Any comments appreciated.

The CK25 has a hydraulic pump gpm of 12.7 while the 2615 has a pump gpm of 7.8. Reading these posts, I have read that the hydraulics of the 2615 are slow. I want to run a backhoe and am concerned about this. Should I be?

As a potential new tractor owner, this web site has proven itself invaluable to me in doing pre-purchase research. So much great info. I could spend many more hours reading and wiling my time.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

The way I read it, The Kioti CK25 has a total output of 12.7. The Mahindra 2615 has 7.8 + 3.5, or a total of 11.3.

Mitsubishi vs Daedong? I would have to go with Mitsu irrespective of some minor difference in the spec's. The chances of a long trouble free service life are probably better with the Mitsu. That said I do like Kioti. Korean stuff just needs a couple more years of polish. They are getting close though...

Hello Jp, the Kiotis are known for high hydraulic outputs.. That said the difference between the two machines your looking at should come down to how comfortable you feel on the machines ,and how comfortable you feel with your dealer. My dealer has been selling Kioti for 22 years and has never had to replace a Daedong engine. He has customers in the 8,500 hour mark. Their durability and longevity are hardly second to a Mitisubishi. They come with a 4 year unlimited hour warranty that includes commercial use, that should speak for itself.. Good luck in your search.

Try both tractors as you need to feel comfortable on the tractor you buy, raise the loaders up and down and make sure the loaders are fast enough for you. You could even time them as most cell phones have a stop watch in them. I don't think you have ever heard much about the 2615 having slow hydraulics. Maybe some of the Mahindra 10 series tractors, but not the 15 series. This day and age check the financials on both companies. I am not going to put down the Kioti tractor in any way, as I am sure either one will make you a good tractor. Being a Mahindra dealer I would like to see you buy the Mahindra, but this is your decision and I am sure you will make the correct decision for you. Good luck and have fun shopping.

Hydraulic flow on either machine will not be an issue. Like others said, get on them and drive them. See what fits you best.

Mr Peabody,
I do not own a 2615, but I do own a Mahindra. Here are some items to think about. I would say it is a toss up on specifications.

The 2615 4WD will lift 2205 pounds with it's 3PH while the CK25 lifts 1764 pounds. Depending on what you want to lift, impliment wise, this is important. That is 441 pounds difference.

The 2615 4WD weights 2315 pounds while the CK25 weights 3042 pounds. Heavier is better, but you can add weight or fill the tires with liquid.

The 2615 4WD's loader will lift up to 96.5 inches while the CK25 will lift up to 92.5 inches. Not really a huge factor on this size tractor.

The 2615 4WD's loader will lift 1050 pounds while the CK25 will lift 1155 pounds. I have no clue how much each bucket weighs and affects these figures. A 105 pound difference. Different buckets could make this null.

So it might just boil down to how far each dealer is and how good the service is and more importantly....how does the tractor "fit" you.

As for shifting between forward and reverse. Well, anything done enough becomes habit and only gets faster.:)
hugs, Brandi

Thanks everyone for your responses.

Hydraulic question: seems to be a wash.

Shifting question: I am only familiar with shuttle and really like it. If I don't have it, I will initially miss it greatly. But like you say, I will surely adapt to whatever I end up with.

Now I have come across a new (to me) tractor on another website: the NEW 2525 4WD w/shuttle. It looks very nice and may work fine for me. Other than for this website courtesy of Bill's Tractor of Liberty Hill, Texas

Mahindra Tractors

I haven't found any other info on it and am going to begin a new thread within this forum inquiring about it.

Thanks again. I still welcome any other comments on this thread.

jp, welcome to the Mahindra forum. The new 2525 is manufactured in China. I've never drive a shuttle shift tractor. To me, the 2615 HST is a dream machine.
