223/556 buying tips?

I have been buying quite a bit from academy.com. Right now, they have .223 Monarch for $5 for a box of 20 and free shipping for $25 or more. Most of the time I have gotten my orders in just a few days. Other than that, I have bought a lot off of sportsmans guide with good results.

Good luck and take care.
Gamaliel Shooting Supply : 223 Rem 5.56mm

Here's another option - I've done business with these folks for over 20 years - always quick delivery and very accurate info on any backordered components.

PSA is also very reputable and they have had a few sales lately for plinking ammo in the high $0.20s per round.
I think I saw brass cased Federal there for $309 per 1000. That's almost back to pre-stupid pricing. Now if .22 would just return to the pre-stupid price and availability.

If you have a Cebela's around, I have bought bulk from them at 35¢ per round.
Hey there, Hill Farmer, got to agree with you on the term "pre-stupid" pricing. I like that, consider it stolen.

That's an awesome price!!! I've never seen anything close to this at the store.

It looks like I was out of date in my previous post. That price was from last week, when it was on sale. The price as of today was $5.49/box, so still a good deal. Keeping in mind that this is steel-cased, Berdan-primed non-reloadable ammunition (from Russia, I think). I ordered a box of it this morning along with a 500 round brick of Remington Thunderbolt .22 LR. The .22 was $24.99, so I needed something else to get to $25 for free shipping. I just looked and the Thunderbolts are out of stock already.

A couple of weeks ago they had the Monarch .308 for $8/box of 20. That's the best price I've seen on .308 in quite some time, so I bought 5 boxes. Right now, I can't come up with any reason to go shop at a store when I can just order online and it shows up on my porch in 4 or 5 days.

Good luck and take care.
