2022 CK2610SE AC doesnt come on sometimes

Hey there,

I noticed whether winter or summer ( worse in the winter when it doesnt work here) that sometimes when I am running my tractor the AC light is not coming on. turning tractor on or off doesnt work, it will eventually when i am running it just light back up. Its not a cause of the light, because it doesnt change the rpm at all.

What can cause something like this? its extra wierd it eventuall just starts working as I am plowing.

big pita due to fogging up badly here in the cold north

Small AC leak, if light doesn’t come on Freon is low. It prevents pump starvation.

In my OM 2022 (CK2610HST) it says that the temp in the cab has to be above 42F for the A/C to come on. Wait for the engine/cab warm up and then check for A/C light. If not then probably low/no Freon. Using outside air reduces fogging. I go back into the house and drink coffee until it warms up. Hope this helps.

The Thermistor on the evaporator will keep the AC from coming on until it reads about 40 degrees in the cab roof to keep the evaporator from freezing in cold temperatures.

Not sure if you ever found the issue but we found a wiring harness at the back of the tractor had melted and the connection was shorting out which powers the AC unit inside.
