Once completed, this Mule will be equal to if not better than the Mules being sold today. This Mule will be sold as a complete, running unit with a Bill of Sale identifying factory VIN. You are welcome to view the Mule while it is in the final stages of completion to confirm the effort and level of quality which has gone into the rebuild. Estimated completion date is March 17, 2023.

Final price will be $9,500 which is a fair market price for a rebuild of this magnitude. A dealer would never have gone to this level of effort due to the high labor costs and low profit. Please note the price is subject to change should a significant issue arise. I do not expect to find any surprises as this unit was well maintained and shows a number of recently installed new parts.

Will be updating the images as the rebuild is nearing completion so check back periodically. Given the popularity of these diesel Mules, I do not expect this Mule to be for sale very long. You are welcome to place a $500.00 fully refundable deposit on the Mule to hold it in your name until completion. Upon pickup, the outstanding balance must be paid before the Mule will leave. I am not interested in trades nor do I offer payment plans. I am a private individual who rebuilds Mule 4010 Trans 4x4 diesel models. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

She's a beauty with the Kawasaki Red Bed Coating.

Engine Specifications
While the engine is stamped ‘Kawasaki Heavy Industries’, Daihatsu was the diesel engine supplier for Mules beginning on or around 2000 in the Mule 2510. The 4010 diesel Mule is powered by a 950cc, water-cooled, three-cylinder, four-stroke Daihatsu DM950D diesel engine rated at 24.5 horsepower at 3,600 rpm. The early Daihatsu diesel model DM950D engines did have some issues, primarily found in the Mule 3010. These issues were poor crankshaft and rod design along with occasional overheating. By the time the 4010 Diesel Mules were put into production, 2009 model year, those issues had been addressed. In other words, if buying a diesel Mule, only buy the 4010 made from 2009 - 2013 in diesel format to avoid the potential issues noted above.

Now before everyone starts whining a sending shots of their 3010 hour meter showing 8,000 'without an issue', the three above 'problems' with earlier diesel Mules, pre-2009, is public knowledge and is even noted by Kawasaki in several internal and external Technical Bulletins. Do I have copies of these bulletins...No. Am I going to hunt them down to satisfy non-believers...No. GOYA, do the research and you will find my statements are correct. Sorry for the tangent, just wanted to nip alternating comments early.

For your further reading enjoyment.

Drivetrain Specs
Power is delivered to the wheels by a continually variable belt-drive transmission with on-demand, four-wheel drive. It offers a selectable high/low range for increased traction. A dual-mode differential drove the rear axle and a limited-slip differential was installed up front.

Dimensions
4010 Diesel Mules weighed 1,750 lbs. and were 128 inches long and 58 inches wide with a 7 inch ground clearance. Wheelbase was 85 inches. The 4010 Diesel Mule has a hauling capacity of 700 - 1,100 lbs. and a 1,500+ lb. towing capacity. Top speed of the Mule is limited by a governor to 25 mph.
