Hello Everyone,

As you all are aware, we had serious issues with the "Past X Hours" being really slow and totally annoying to everyone.

The 7-day listing will be taken away, since I don't think many people can bear to be away from TBN for a solid week.

As a trade-off for taking this feature away, I've had to give you guys sub-second responses. As you can tell from the bottom of This 24 Hour Page

It takes it, on average, about three tenths of a second.

Before anyone tells me, I _know_ the past48 hours isn't there yet. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The solution to that will take me about 24 hours to fix. Then there will be 48 hours elapsed from the time I started the new listing.

I hope this makes it easier for everyone to enjoy TBN.

Actually, I end up using the "7-day" option about once a month.

I haven't accomplished any official calculations, but I would guess that the number of posts PER DAY have at least doubled since 2000 and probably tripled since 1997-1998 when I first started using this site.

The problem with the high quantity of daily posts is that if you miss a day, it takes a long time to go through 48 hours worth, and sometimes I don't have that much time. That forces me to utilize the "7-day" option to review the last 72 or 96 hours worth of posts.

Of course, I would also guess that this "high quantity of posts" also contributes to the slow response of the server.

I wonder if there could be just one option for "____ hours" and the user fill in the blank?
