    Shredder front guards

Aggie66, On my Woods shredder I just measured the length, height, & thickness of the old one and bought a roll of used conveyer belting to make replacements with. It's been holding up fine so far and I have enough left over that I can easily make any needed replacements as the need arises...

Tiller howse 70 wide tiller - rebuild or replace rusty pto knuckle

NurseFarmer, I don't have that tiller but the piece in your hands sure looks like a broken piece of friction plate from the slip clutch. Should be an easy replacement part if you have a dealer somewhere.

Need a front wheel seal on Cub Cadet

Jg1, If all you need is the seal, it'd probably be cheapest to just do that. Take it apart, get the numbers off the old seal and match it up to a universal replacement. seems a lot cheaper than 250 - 300 dollars - unless you actually need the whole assembly?

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

That's sure a nice set-up! Did you create this on your own or was it able to be pieced together by buying the separate components? That roller shoot is sure impressive!

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

Shooterdon, I have no doubts at all, but I'd sure like to see how that 250 bed looks as it's up to dump. It looks in the picture as a regular truck bed looks - not as an dump insert. Curious as to how it dumps?

T293 Rear Axle Seal Replacement Help

Ken, It's been several years since I changed out both of mine and I don't know how different the 293 is from the 273; but...the hardest part for me was that the ROP had to be removed from the tractor. It's heavy and awkward to handle alone. Other than that, the service manual shows all of...

    Hydraulic flow numbers

YoungElder, I'm not exactly clear on this subject but I'd tend to agree with you. My 273 has one main pump that provides both the steering and hydraulic pressure; thus I'd "assume" that if stationary and not using the steering, one would have "full flow" of the pump to power implements. But...

Thanks for that info ArlyA, but the clamps aren't what I meant - I was asking about the frame that the tools are clamped onto? Did you find that on Amazon also? I thought that was an "excellent" idea for storage of misc items one might transport in the bed of a truck! Thanks

Thanks for the knowledgeable advice Yomax! I read in the manual somewhere that it said to cap off the red unless running 3 phase. I'm only concerned with single phase. So I guess I must use the white for 1 of the hots. White/black for my 220V. Green as ground. This will be a dedicated...

Everlast PA160 Plug end wiring confusion

I've got a PA160 and the cheesy manual doesn't give detailed guidance on how to hook up the plug. It saves "plug to be provided by owner." I've had a plug on the end to run from my generator, and it's worked fine but I've only welded with it 2 - 3 times. I put a 4 prong twist lock for the...

Smokeydog, I sure like the bracket you show - where can I find one like that? I've only seen the flimsy ones that usually come with the extinguisher, and are next to impossible to mount to the tractor. I'd get a couple of those if I could find them! Thanks, Greg

    T233, 273, and 293 Engine interchangeability.

Jigs, I've looked at the specs too and can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. I've often wondered how the exact same engine - could produce 23, 27, and/or 29Hp??? If you could get access to a 29Hp engine I say go ahead and swap it in. I just can't see why it wouldn't work! Good hunting.

    Field work

I do the same as repete does, change my oil and filter once every 100 hours which equals out to once a year. I figure it's much cheaper to buy some oil and a filter than replace/rebuild an engine! However this year I used 5-40W synthetic so I may just change out the filter next year. I...

I don't want to get off track here but I've a quick question about gear ratios. How are the numbers determined? I don't understand the difference between 3.73 or 3.42. You make it sound as if the 3.73 is better for towing purposes? Correct? Is the higher a number the better for torque? The...

    TYM/Mahindra vs TYM

Yeah Torvy; You must hail from one of the Dakota's - and I'd bet it's the North - they often got the storms harder than we did, 60 miles west of Duluth. But, I do have memories of long, long winters!! As a kid the snow was great but as I got older not so much anymore.

How to evaluate a used tiller

As others have said Kuhn is a know, reputable brand. Check gearbox oil for the amount and color (water contamination) and tines - although they can easily be replaced. If worn doesn't always mean lots of hours, could have been used in dry hard soil; my experience. But the picture looks like...

Adding power steering and power beyond question.

aczlan, yes you are right, but, that is only "IF" you happen to be able to find a shop that does that sort of work anymore! Nowadays it's pull out and replace - not repair - at least in my neck of the woods.
  78. Gregster613

Adding power steering and power beyond question.

Scotty, I know it looks strange but I think that it serves a purpose and the only down-side is that it makes any radiator repair/replacement more difficult/expensive. In fact probably much more expensive to replace!

Jiggs, Can you give a link to the ebay seller please? At that price I'd for sure get one for on the shelf! I've replaced my 273 loader valve once already and it was a "chore" to find the proper valve! Of course this was during the pandemic period which only made things much harder to...

Rotary Cutter Bush Hog Gear Box Leaking

Yes Rob I realize it's a field mower and I am mowing fields with it -- I just wondered whether it was something I was doing wrong in forwards operation that was the main cause. 97. Gregster613

Rotary Cutter Bush Hog Gear Box Leaking

Spyderlk, Not really, my BB60 is about 1-2" wider than my rear wheels and it will gouge (rather than slide on top of) the ground even if I'm going straight. I need to be "constantly" keeping eyes on it to not have it snag a chunk of ground. However if I cut going backwards it does just fine...

Rotary Cutter Bush Hog Gear Box Leaking

Sawer Rob, Off topic some, but, how do you keep your cutter from digging in during frontward pulls? I have a Woods BB60 and unless I drive in reverse it will surely dig in on one side or the other and leave a gouge in my clay soil? I need to "constantly" watch the front edges and make...

    clean air filter

Good question Dennis, I've wondered the same thing. I put approx. 100 hrs. a year on mine and often in dusty conditions so I do take the filter out and blow with air often, but it still looks good - seems to still work okay - and is quite expensive to replace at such low hour usage that I wait...

3gunr, While that's true I'm sure that you won't find a bolt up ready kit elsewhere. If op wants it to look as stock as possible and as easy to put on, he's going to have to source a TYM kit. $$ yes, but easily assembled and looks are what come with the kit.

Roadworthy, Just a quick question per battery load tests; if you load test a battery and the needle enters the weak range does that mean battery is getting worn out? Or just that it's weak? My guess is that it's about shot but I'm not that savvy per the load test diagnosis tests. Thanks and...

    New log splitter control valve.

I'm not seeming to follow everything here - of course I could be lost way off base - but looking at your picture in post#8, why couldn't you just flip the valve around - to the left, mount as same - and then your "flexible" hoses would be inserted into the correct ports and valve would respond...
