L5740 Changing R4 to R14 on front only?

A guy at the tire shop determined that the reason that tire loses air is that there is a rough area (likely damage from one of the earlier flat episodes) on the tire bead. He put 80 psi in it and there was no leak when submerged. But these tires are 6 ply and only rated at 45 psi so we dropped...

L5740 Changing R4 to R14 on front only?

The applications where I think I'd like R14 are summer working in forest with soft ground, and early or late season snow when I don't have chains on. I have to travel on our road occasionally which is hard packed dirt and rock, so I can't leave the chains on year-round.

Front Snow Plow - To hydro or not.

If you have a very simple set up to plow, like a narrow driveway, a small parking area, and an easy place to put the snow, you might not mind the manual angling. If more complex, or if you need to plow fairly often, go for the power angle. As mentioned above, tire chains will solve any...

    Fuel meter for gravity tank?

Anyone using a digital fuel meter (diesel) on a stand tank that works OK? When my bulk tank is running low, and filling equipment with a fuel tank mounted high, my flow rate is pretty low, must be less than 2 gal/minute, so I don't want to add much restriction to the line, but with snow on the...

Diesel Exhaust in your Garage/shop: How do you deal with it?

In the winter we often keep our Kubota in the garage, which is unheated but has some passive solar gain, so it may be cold but not brutally cold. I run some pool hose from the exhaust pipe along the floor and out under the door before cranking. As soon as the engine smooths out nicely I pull...
