Guy uses fake check to steal Massey tractor...recognize him?

You mean the gubmint ain't a-circlin' them danged black heliocopters over my house to peer through my walls with they infrared vision things to see just what I'm doing in here? (Which would mainly be an old man taking a nap.) :)

Guy uses fake check to steal Massey tractor...recognize him?

Yep. I bought a new Lincoln Nautilus (~$60,000+) last year and the dealership had no problem accepting my personal check. No way in the world I'd go marching around town with that much cash in my pocket. It's just not safe.

How far and high can I throw snow?

Have you considered the Kubota RTV-X 1100C with the front PTO K-Connect blower/plow system? We don't get QUITE as much snow here in northern Michigan as you do there, but 200" or so of lake effect snow isn't at all unusual. I have an RTV-X 1100C, but I couldn't bring myself to spring for the...

    What causes tractor rollovers?

This thread reminds me of the time I decided to take my old Gator up the steep hill on my land to make use of the some of the many dead ash trees which I figured, were either going to become firewood or just rot. On the way up, it was very scary - it felt like I was close to rolling the machine...

Snow Attachments Why don't they make a snowblower attachment for gators?

I had some sort of halfway decent ATV tires on my Gator, nothing special, but the weight in the bed really helped. I'd suggest putting enough weight in the bed to offset the weight of the plow. You have to figure that if you add 300 pounds to the front end, you're changing the weight...

Snow Attachments Why don't they make a snowblower attachment for gators?

---------------------------------- I never put chains on my Gator, but I did on my JD X739 and I did not like them. I bought a set of TerraGrips but never got a chance to use them when I dumped the X739 and bought my Kubota 1100C before this winter started. One thing that really helped my Gator...

Snow Attachments Why don't they make a snowblower attachment for gators?

------------------------------- I had a JD Gator 620i (very similar to your 625i, just an earlier version) and I never had any problem plowing, even up to 18" of wet, heavy snow. The plow on my old Gator was JD's "PowerTach" hydraulic plow. To answer your question, though, I did investigate...

    Coyote, wolf, or ????

Wow, that is no coyote! We get coyotes around here pretty frequently and sometimes even during the day, 50' away from the house like this hungry guy who stopped by to see if our dogs were out in the back yard. The animal you have there looks much larger to me...I'd say wolf or wolf/dog hybrid.

    Cub Cadet Challenger 750

------------------------------------- Good news, OM -- that's NOT the case for the 1100C!!!! When I bought mine, I specified what Kubota calls "72" XTRA DUTY FRONT BLADE W/ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC LIFT AND ANGLE ". It's not cheap ($4,000) but it does include everything you need: mounting kit, plow...

Is there any such thing as abusing a easement across my property?

You're exactly right -- and boy, have I come to hate short-term rentals. I live in a beautiful, resort-type area (the Leelanau Peninsula of Michigan) and we've always had lots of summer tourists, but ever since "Good Morning America" bestowed the title of "The Most Beautiful Place in America" on...

    Way too much snow

---------------------------------------------- Man, what I'd give for some good old lake effect snow! I'm in the Leelanau Peninsula, so Lake Michigan is our snow maker, not Lake Superior like you have. We don't get as much as you guys get, but lake effect is usually pretty reliable (200" last...

    Kubota RTV-XG850, Anyone?

----------------------------------------------- I love my new 1100C, but I honestly don't know how much fun it would be on the trails. It would be able to manage, no doubt -- there's plenty of ground clearance and suspension travel. The ride is actually much smoother over bumps than what I was...

    Kubota RTV-XG850, Anyone?

--------------------------------- I had a 2009 JD Gator 620i that I really, really enjoyed (and had people fighting over when I sold it last spring) but my Kubota RTV-X 1100C is leaps and bounds better, in just about every aspect. I love the power steering, the precise hydrostatic transmission...

Reasons not to buy an RTV 1100C?

And just for the record, I too have faith in Kawasaki. My old Gator had a Kawasaki engine that started instantly in even the coldest weather and purred like a kitten. The guy who bought my old Gator will have many happy years ahead, I'm sure. I always enjoyed it!

Reasons not to buy an RTV 1100C?

------------------------- Oh, we have you beat there! I'm in Leelanau County, Michigan - about 300 miles northwest of Detroit and a completely different world. The Leelanau Peninsula is the "little finger" of the Michigan mitten, sticking out into the waters of northern Lake Michigan (pic of my...

Reasons not to buy an RTV 1100C?

Interesting thread -- and it makes me very glad I bought a new 1100C last month. The only real "negative" I see about the Kubota is that it's not fast. That's true, but I knew that going in. I use my UTV primarily for plowing snow in a heavy snow region (200" last winter, 265" a few years ago)...

Looking for the best UTV for play and work

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've lived both sides of this. I used to have a John Deere Gator 620i XUV that I really enjoyed -- and yes, it was peppy and fun to drive -- and now I have a brand new Kubota RTV-X 1100C. I live in a very...

    Snowplow for Kubota RTV900

I have a brand new (well, 15 hours now) Kubota RTV-X1100C with the Kubota plow and it definitely has self-contained hydraulics. It mounts in the UTV's 2" front receiver and you have only one electrical plug connecting it to the machine, no hydraulic connections like I had on my old JD Gator with...
