    TODAYS SEAT TIME

Is the hood steel or plastic? What controls the HST, solenoid controlled? How much does it cost to change the oil and filters in that hydro? Does it have an on/off switch for the pto? Does the key switch shut it off? These are a few of the things that make a tractor very HARD to be a...

Single stage pumps are just as strong, as long as you have enough HP to run one. My splitter is single stage, and it takes a tractor with 30 PTO HP to MAX it out, and that's the HP the Deutz I use it on, has at the PTO. SR

1 tractor rest of forever -- what brand?

Aren't you talking about the "Global" attachment? More than deere uses it, and it's much stronger than the skid steer attachment. I much prefer it, just because it's more positive and stronger, it's on most of the more powerful tractors. SR

Tell that to my neighbor who has two Kuhn rakes, and they go bang when you hit the switch. He's worried it will chip a tooth in one of the gear boxes, and I thought the same as you, until he started the tractor and showed me how it slammed in, pretty hard. SR
  22. Sawyer Rob

1 tractor rest of forever -- what brand?

Absolutely, but that's not possible on my neighbors new deere, it idles at a 1,000 or more RPM's and the dealer says that's for emissions, can't lower it and can't feather it in. My AGCO's idle at less than half of what his deere does, as does his older tractors. SR

"Forever" is a long time from now, IF the mfg. no longer makes the part that you need, it doesn't much matter what dealer you have. LESS parts to go wrong is MUCH better, simpler means easier to figure it out yourself. Not everyone is an electrical engineer to keep one of today's tractors...

I don't totally agree with this. It really depends on how much you are going to use your mill. IF you are going to saw all the time, then the more automated the better, BUT if you are only going to saw once in a while, on a manual mill, there just so much less to go wrong on them and a LOT...
