Single stage pumps are just as strong, as long as you have enough HP to run one. My splitter is single stage, and it takes a tractor with 30 PTO HP to MAX it out, and that's the HP the Deutz I use it on, has at the PTO. SR

Absolutely, but that's not possible on my neighbors new deere, it idles at a 1,000 or more RPM's and the dealer says that's for emissions, can't lower it and can't feather it in. My AGCO's idle at less than half of what his deere does, as does his older tractors. SR

Does more cable mean smaller diameter cable? I've never needed that much cable, and to me it's a disadvantage unless you "absolutely" need it. More cable means more chances of snagging on the drum, and more chances of a rat's nest. Also, more cable will most likely reduce the pulling power...

Here's one of my compressors, I've had it since the early 80's, I've long since forgot it's ratings, but it works just fine for what I need it for and it just keeps just chugging along. It's an "honest" 5 hp compressor, unlike those fake ratings you see on them today! SR

Keep in mind, I'm guessing about this because I believe your tractor is SAME built. You will find it on the right side of the transmission about half way up, and look for it from the back of the tractor. You check with the 3 point hitch all the way down. SR

Look for a plug on the right hand side of the transmission case. You will need an allen wrench to get it open, it's flush with the case so a bit hard to find. Fill the case until oil comes out of the hole of the opened plug. SR

The wiring that's carrying the bigger load should be upgraded too, or the wires will degrade. You don't want that problem! SR

Radials ride better and give better traction. SR

Mine works fine in wetter snow, as long as you keep the RPM's up. Sure you get snow on you, if you try to blow snow into the wind! SR

Yes, some do, but these things don't run constant, so a film of grease on the axle/bush will last for years, and it won't get over greased or end up with a damaged grease zerk. SO, mine don't have a zerk and for the limited use a snatch block gets, they don't need one. SR

I have a 20 or 25K winch mounted on its own trailer that has airplane wheels/tires on it. The winch runs off whatever tractors PTO the trailer is hooked to. I've winched out a buried dozer with it and let me tell you, you could hear the wire rope creaking and pinging! SR

I make my own batt. to winch cables, out of welding cable. I make my own ends too, out of copper pipe fittings. SR

It takes some practice to get good at it, but I can pick up 4x5's without even stopping and move them to a trailer. You do have to be careful not to break strings when going under the bales. SR
