    Kubota engine rebuild problem

Is the piston hitting the head or a valve? Is there an foreign object smashed between the head and piston Yes, the valve is being struck. I have very limited time to work on this, but will check in soon. Of course, everything is out of sequence! Thanks.

    Kubota engine rebuild problem

Yes, rod caps is what I meant. It's too late to mark now, but I was working with a flashlight last evening. The number stamps on rod caps looked to be properly oriented with the rod. What should I look for next? Should the bearing be replaced? Can I get this done without removing the cylinder...

    Kubota engine rebuild problem

The engine is a two cylinder diesel (Z500). It's forty years old and has been rebuilt before. I recently changed the piston rings. On startup, the engine lit off and immediately seized. I was told by Kubota that the connecting rod cap bolts are YTT ( yield to torque) bolts and shouldn't be...

    No power to key

Not often that I can answer my own post, but the problem was corrosion at the battery post and the solenoid post, where I was only getting 1.5v from a fully charged 12v battery

    Z500 diesel valve timing

I'm trying to get my Kubota Z500 two cylinder engine started after doing a piston ring job and cylinder head valve job. I set the valve clearance by watching one valve start to move and adjusting clearance on the other. There is a bit of blowby, but the rings haven't seated yet. If I line up...

    Bad brake safety switch

Thank you for your reply Richard. I can't seem to locate the clutch coil. I'll have to find a schematic. Wouldn't you think I could accomplish the same thing by introducing 12 volts to the PTO switch?

    Bad brake safety switch

Voltage is not getting to my PTO switch. I've pretty much eliminated everything else and am quite sure the brake safety switch is bad. I'm not physically able to get to the switch due a recent injury. I should be able to wire a jumper directly to the battery to get the mower deck to run, right?
