The CK I have has a ~5sec delay. Not the longest of times, but prevents it from cutting off while looking at my fork tips or getting bounced around in the field.

have you checked the key switch?

I use a pair of bluetooth earbuds with the little 'wings' that have yet to come out in the 3yrs I've had them. They are not 'active noise canceling' but the silicone tip blocks noise like any other ear plugs and the wings keep them in. No wires to get in the way, nothing squeezing my head.

Should be 2 (or 3) 5 pin relays under the hood, as grs says, controlling the starter and fuel solenoid. They are all the same and you can swap them around to see if the one that controls the fuel solenoid is faulty. Just 5 pin Bosch type relays. Cheap on Amazon.

My advise? Warm the shop up so you can spend time in there comfortably and then start from the beginning and carefully go through it. Some step was missed/overlooked. Easy to do when you're cold and rushing through it.
