sagging curl on front end loader

Have plenty of power (can curl a bucket load of top soil and moves fast), however with a load in the bucket, or not, it will sag (2 mins itll sag about 1/4"). The frame doesn't sag at all, just the bucket curl. I have performed the test with idle and 1500rpm to see if there is a difference...

One of the joys of yuppies driving in rural areas

When I was on my way to work on thursday, the mercedes SUV in front of me hit a young buck. I stopped blocking the lane so that noone else would hit it, and as the cell phone talking mercedes driver got out to see the damage I asked "you want it?". The confounded look on his face answered my...

I'm getting to the point where I am running out of area to mow with the rotary cutter. We're using the loppers and small chainsaw to cut whats left over, however this requires a lot of bending over. Wondering if any of you have experience with the above? Is it worth the money or will I just...

what type of 110V welder to get ac/dc/mig/tig

Keep in mind I haven't the foggiest what I am doing (last time I used a welder was an oxy/acetylene ... and its getting prohibitively expensive to get gas around here these days) I am looking to do general repairs around the farm (like fixing the coulter brackets on my 10-153)

    Replacing a disk

I cracked a disk on my #25 and have a spare laying around ... curious what the easiest way to get it out of there ? I was initially thinking to just take the bolt off the axle give it a couple taps so its past the broken disk, replace the disk and put it all back. This has however given me a...

    New saw 390xpg

I have to tell you guys, moving up to a bigger saw is making my life easier already. Have only done 1 log so far and being able to do the log in one go vs 2 with my poulan 16" makes all the difference, not to mention the speed at which it will cut. It was well worth the money ($1200cad...

Mowing  The after effects of my 1635 and 5' rhino 160 cutter

Put 5hrs on the mower yesterday dealing with 1 of my fields that is in rough shape (prickly ash/etc). I had previously done 1ac of this 4ac field by hand/chainsaw in about 15 man hrs (3 of us splitting duties). Quite remarkable what a compact tractor can do, I figure about 4.9gals of fuel was...

3-Point Hitch  Was bush hogging today ...

So, I just got my mf1635 today ... 2hrs later, I lost a cotter pin on the 3 point hitch (where the lift arms hook up to the implement) and the mower is on the ground (at least one side anyways) ... any way to avoid this ? I imagine it caught a branch or something the pins are the loop spring...

    Comparison  1533 v 1540 v 1635 v 1643

So those are my choices, and best I can see they are all basically the same size (whl), around the same weight (400lbs from 1533-1643), same capacity loaders, same 3ph, pretty close hydraulics, same tranny choices ... so whats the difference between the 1500 and 1600 series ? Granted the 1643...

Buying Advice  Need a tractor for heavily brushed/sapplinged 50ac and future maintenance

So as the title says, we're looking for a tractor to turn what was probably 30-40yrs ago a apple farm into a pasture. It is heavily overgrown with sapplings most under 3/4 dia but quite tall (in some cases bushes are 12' across and 20' tall), most others are under 4" dia. After removing the...
