    If it jumped of the hitch it would crush the bed sides, seen that a few time here. Most likely he unhooked did not pull clear before lowering the front or engaged auto level. That will dip the front of the trailer way down at the beginning of the level sequence.

    I get them delivered 2 high on flat bed, we use 40-50 per year. The top row takes a bit of finesse :) If you figure a 4x5 bale is 600 to 800 pounds plan for that and leave margin for wet bale. Sooner or later.

    What hay bales? Anything other than small squares you'll want enough lift and weight for your bales. My 35hp LS with backhoe installed will lift and carry 4x5.5 round and unload double stacked 4x5, not enough reach for 5.5 bales on a second row.

    You can just put a jumper on the connector and be done. I put a switch in parallel so when I want to bypass I flip the switch and reverse if I want the seat switch active. Many ways to skin that cat.

    Everyone will always tell you to get more and bigger. My 35HP does everything I need. Just a tick short of reach on a double stacked hay trailer, have to finesse the center stacked round bales to the edge. I can always push them off with another bale if needed.

    That is the 30-40 series with interim tier 4. The 31-41 series have a different motor and seems to be right at 50 hours most of the time. 650 hours on my XG3135H stripped down model from the XR models.

    I'd guess there is minor bind in the linkage preventing the pedal from returning to neutral. Cross Shaft or Treadle mount are likely culprits. No help on replacing switch, I have 4500+ hours on my bx2200 and that switch has never failed. Plenty of other things wore out...

    Backhoe (mostly) or Rotary Cutter for me. Keep think about a box to shorten the tractor but then I'd have to pull what I have on it. The backhoe take up too much space in the shop when not mounted.

    Note check the indicator on occasion. The bracket it rides in can move messing up your perception of bucket tilt. If that bend works I may have to copy it. I bend the straight one all the time.

    Maybe check the jet size, just got a replacement carb for a chinese ATV and the main jet in the new one was just over the half the size of the old jet. Installed old jet in new carb and it runs fine under load, when it would not with smaller jet.

    If you are talking about the long pin in the picture, it is Roll pin and you drive it out with hammer and a punch in most cases. Those long unsupported ends like to bend during the process. I'd have a new one on hand. You should be able to look up the spring part number on the LS Tractor site.

    Is there a good connection between alternator and battery, no broken/corroded wiring. blow fuse, etc. What is output voltage of the alternator at speed (not just idle) does voltage show at the battery. Should be above 13.5 when not at idle.
