If those "Chinese" spacers are made out of any kind of metal, I'd use them. All they do is take up space, the lug bolts clamp the axle, spacer, and wheel together. They won't wear if they don't move. The clamping force is not going to crush them. What is the concern?

I used Amsoil in the early eightys in a Plymouth 318 with around 30,000 miles, when I switched back to conventional oil the engine started using oil. I run full synthetic oil in my vehicles now but, I would not reccomend Amsoil to any of my friends!

Sawyer, Have you considered using a metal detector, if you are concerned with hardware? I was given some pine that the owner said had hosted a tree house, we were able to locate the nails with a hand held metal detector, no harm to the saw.

That is a good idea. If you have to be under the loader, a mechanical barrier is the safest way to do it.

I have to agree, it looks like they didn't finish assembling the tractor, you've done a better job of engineering it than Mahindra did.

Wow! That is some impressive wood. The loader needing to use a "rocker" log as an aid to load emphasizes how big those big ones are. I'd sure like to see the milling process too.

While I was shopping for a new tractor last winter I was considering the blue colored one until I noticed the driveshaft was the lowest thing on the tractor. I like the fact that my Massey has it tucked in where it won't be the point the tractor gets hung up when driving over stumps.

I totally agree that being under the FEL is not good practice, I avoid going there. I lower the FEL to the ground before accessing the box, it's just easier, so I'm not tempted to get under the loader.

I've seen pictures of people using the hollow pipes to store things too. The issues with that are, it's just a small volume of space, and it just is not as easily accesable. With my "iron curtain", I just reach up and grab the chain, or just reach up and put them back on the rack.
