    Stuck in the pond

Got stuck years ago on a A-C WD45 using a 3 bottom plow. Unluckily found a spot with an underground spring bubbling up. Plow kept rear wheels from contacting solid ground. Plow buried so deep, couldn’t disconnect. Tried another tractor, couldn’t budge it. Took an Oliver bulldozer to pull all...

Kitchen garden. Been plowed and disked before, have brinly hardy 10”plow on craftsman gt 5000. Hard to get enough traction to plow smoothly. Has tractor treads, ballast, and weights. Almost bearable. Same brand disc. Craftsman GT 5000 has no hydraulics, or 3 pt

Yellow Jacket Nests While Bush hogging, whats your plan?

Yellowjacket nests look like a paper basketball, ground bees go down a hole or multiple holes.

Yellow Jacket Nests While Bush hogging, whats your plan?

Probably ground bees. They make honey underground, a delicacy for skunks. Yellowjacket’s make paper nests in trees or attics or house waves, etc. No honey in their nests. Ground bees are aggressive and will chase you. Yellowjackets are more concerned with the nest and queen. Neither one’s stings...

    Zero turn mower advice

I have the ZTS2 54", check the front spindles. I had the left one break off. The welding of the spindle to the wheel yoke wasn't completely welded. Needed to reweld the shaft to the wheel yoke. Have had it for 2 1/2 yrs. Warranty only is 2 yrs. Glad I could fix it without having to buy a new...

Why not sugar water in tires instead of beet juice?

I’ve used RV antifreeze. Safe for house plumbing, so don’t see any reason it would damage tires and wheels. Works to -20 F. Around $2-$2.50 a gallon

    Round Bale Fires

It will happen with any bales when the hay is too “wet”(green and not dried sufficiently in the sun). And if they don’t get hot and combust, they will probably mold from the moisture.

Can I just pour cement in ballast box and add water.

I would rather have a pile of gravel or sand than a block of concrete to move or try to get back into the box next time.

    Fix'n to get a Tiller

My experience with tillers and plows is that the tiller doesn’t go as deep as a plow/turner. Also roots and rocks will bounce the tiller as most plows will flip them with the dirt.

Cub Cadet RZTS with leaf vac

Was looking to use a Agri-Fab or DR tow behind leaf vacuum behind my RZTS Zero turn mower. Three dealers poo-pooped the idea saying that pulling that kind of weight would ruin the transmission on the CC mower. Has anyone out there ever used one on a zero turn mower? I was looking at one of the...

Restoring antique plow - need to remove rusted nuts/bolts - how much heat?

Propane or MAPP gas with oxygen can get hot enough to cut steel when a lot of Oxygen is used. So yes, it can get nuts red hot. Kroil helps sometimes if you can get to the threads.

    2WD GMC 2500HD

I made the mistake of buying a 2WD GMC a while back. I live in Michigan and got stuck the first snow and the sceond. No weight in the back end to provide traction. Eventually bought a set of winter tires and added a "ladder" frame of 1" PVC pipe to hold 4 - 5 gallon Home Depot buckets filled...
