Help fixing a leaky sleeve! Ideas!

Great idea! I wonder if a cylinder ring compressor would work. Heck I have thin sheet stock to compress the rings. Yes the block bore is chamfered and somewhat polished. Let's say it's very smooth for cast iron. What's happening is the friction from pressing the sleeve is firstly pushing the...

Help fixing a leaky sleeve! Ideas!

Oh I do have a mill and lathe. I thought of widening the grooves of the sleeve. I'm thinking it's just not enough room for the rings to glatten out and squish. When pressed they are cutting ong the edges of the oring groove of the sleeve. Now that's just my observation guessing as you can't see...

Help fixing a leaky sleeve! Ideas!

I've got a little 25 hp chinesium tractor. So no real formal specs to toss around. I rebuild this thing new last summer. All new internals and seals. The sleeves are wet press in with two 4mm thick orings as seals on the bottom of the sleeves. Seals off the coolant from the oil sump. I...

    Jinma rebuild questions?

I had freshly rebuild my jinma farm pro 2420 last summer. Had very little hours on it. Checked the oil this spring and it was full of antifreeze. I tore this thing Down and inspected it with a fine tooth comb. No cracks nada. I added pressure to the coolant side and it seemed to be leaking from...

    Tractor lots are full

Our lots are full here. I know one thing! I have been in the market to need and want to buy a tractor. The prices are frigging unreal!! Even used implement prices here are stupid compared to a few years back. Chinese tractors once sold new for 3-5 grand new now they are selling for 7-9...

    Help with farmpro 2420

Yes I didn't think of that. There are freeze plugs under the rocker arms. However I think I'm on the trail. I put it all back together with a new head gasket. I pressurized the coolant side to 20 psi. I've got drips coming from the rear sleeve. It's not really clear if it's from the outside of...

    Help with farmpro 2420

Thank you so much for your insight! Last night I suspected a rolled Oring on a sleeve. The more I laid in bed thinking. There are two Orings. It would have to roll both or pinch/ break both. Possible YES likely No. Then I kept thinking about the coolant so high in the engine. All the way on...

    Help with farmpro 2420

It does have a mechanical pump. What os puzzling is the oil is not milky. I have no idea when this happened but nothing indicates it's been ran like this. It's almost like a frozen cracked block or cracked sleeve. This antifreeze is new and like 30 below plus I live in Alabama. I have no idea...

    Bubbles in hydraulic reservoir.

FOUND IT!! Well.... what in the hell goes in front of the seal to keep it in place if it’s pissibke to push out? Why did it push out? Why is it sucking air instead of pushing fluid out into the crank case? Sucking air but blowing the seal out! Hmmmm There is a groove but it doesn’t look...

    Bubbles in hydraulic reservoir.

Oh and it flows fine. Me being an idiot took off an output line and put it in a jug. ““Testing your exact theory”” I was just going to bump it over to see the flow. I seen it alright! The motor starts on on a half a bump!! 🤣 I got drenched before I could shut it down! Yeah that hard line...

    Bubbles in hydraulic reservoir.

Well how this works is as follows... In the sump or reservoir there is a brass mesh filter with a pickup tube. That runs vertical and connects to the outlet or bolt on bracket which has the outlet for the hard line. Now the hard line is a mushroom taper fitting. No O-rings. It connects to...

    Need advise on oil pressure!

No sir not to argue but on these Chinese tractors, what you buy is what you get. Not a lot you can do or say. It ain’t a Ford whereyou can just drop back by the parts house. I own a machine shop as my business. I mic’d the crank and checked the bearings. I checked the side gap, ring gap, etc...

    Need advise on oil pressure!

Yes brand new pump. The pump is gear operated internal design. I’ve seen no sign of a relief made into it. The only thing I know that’s on this tractor is what I think to be a oil regulator in the form of a spring and ball bearing tensioned by a set screw. It is located on the oil filter...

    Need advise on oil pressure!

Well It’s a brand new mechanical gauge. I would hope it’s not that. Before I rebuild it and the main reason was low oil pressure. It’s strange... I was also thinking it should hover at 40-45 then drop to about 30-35. At real low idle it’s as low ad 5-10.

Hey guys I have a 20 hp farmpro / jinma actually a 2420. I’ve been battling for a while! I’ve resorted in a complete rebuild inside and out. Everything is brand new! Yes oil pump also. When I first cranked it up I would get about 20ish lbs of oil pressure at a little above idle. When I reved...

    Need help setting valves??

Okay my memory was close. What I was doing is pulling up the front number one cylinder just after the exhaust closes and just before the intake opens. On the flywheel the indicator shows 0° tdc. I was setting both intake and exhaust lash on that number one piston at that point. What you are...

    Farm pro engine problem update.

Hey guys I posted the other thread about the injection pump. I figured I'd post a thread that isn't labeled so specific to be misleading. This tractor is new to me and so has had me confused with some issues. At first it had a knock in the rear two cylinder engine. Turned out it was fuel...

Farmpro /Jinma 2420 injector pump timing question??

Hey guys, I just bought a farm pro 2420. It had a slight "what I think" to be a fuel knock. I noticed it was missing a stud on the rear injector. So I cleaned removed and cleaned the injector and replaced the missing stud. This cured 80% of the knock! The guy I bought it from did say the...
