    Oops. Bad math. $.385 + $.184 = $.569/gal $.569/gal x 11,000mi/yr x 1gal/30mi = $208. This assumes equivalent of 30mpg gascar and 11,000 miles/yr average. So the $200 fee still seems not far off…….

$.18 federal gas tax times 11000 miles is $1980. So if 11000 miles is close to average (who knows this?) then our $200 fee is close.

It is true you can't just pull over any old place and charge your car. It takes some planning.... to charge where the chargers are. It is not impossible. You present a case where someone did not plan ahead. For those incapable of planning ahead, EVs are not yet for them. There is no right...

The days really are going by faster!!!!

It is the fact that we are bringing up all that oil, from underground, and then burning it into the atmosphere. Thus, the mass-distribution change inside the earth makes it spin faster as we extract and burn off things near the relative surface of the planet.

Actually, I will not dive on u mr. Fudd. I just see people spending big money on EVs differently. I believe they do it because they like them - vs thinking they have to or are saving money by doing so. Time will tell about the EV future, but it certainly is a fun ride currently on the EV...

This is why I began buying Tesla stock in 2009. They were not only building cars, but the infrastructure too. It has worked out quite well so far.

    Are new discoveries always good?

Yeah, not debunked. For every one like you posted I can find others saying the opposite. So at best, there is debate and no final resolution. But I think fake news plays a big part in this. But thanks for the opposing 'view/opinion.'...

    Loader joystick joy!

Discovered a cool thing about the Bobcat loader joystick arm: it folds up out of the way when not needed. Loosen two blots, remove one of them, fold it up, tighten the remaining bolt. Now i can get on/off both sides of the tractor!

Well used X 500 Impulse buy

I pull a 5x10 1200lb utility trailer with my x500. I have even pulled it with a half ton of logs in it. No problems. The tranny, Kawasaki engine, whole thing is still going strong.

Some one wanted to know if we'd buy an EV tractor

Not necessarily. Many small tractors are used only for a few minutes at a time. And when a utility or yard tractor sits waiting to do something it is not using much battery if any. Your 8-10 hour case there is only one use-case for tractors. MANY small utility tractor use-cases would lend...

I asked our electric CoOp about grid capacity if 90% of members were to have EVs and charge them at night: Good Morning, We have plenty of night capacity for car charging. It’s the peak afternoon times where our grid capacity is high. It will also be a very long time before our membership...

OK. Thanks for the calmatters post. Where have i been? Doing my own thing instead of spending time on the internet and worrying about what California is doing. But seeing that, I do agree that such a “Proposed” mandate is wrong. Not sure about the 2nd part of your reply about other states...

Some one wanted to know if we'd buy an EV tractor

All politicians like to talk. I do not know any who go around forcing people to buy EVs. Some may speak their opinions on EVs, just like we all do here. Please point to specific examples of being forced to like or buy EVs by them……

    LEATHERMAN tools

I used to. They are nice, but the steel is not as high quality as some others. They do hold an edge - just not as long and as sharp as some. They used to offer many more choices/models of knives. Weren’t a big seller for them so they cut back.

Cool! Freedom Arms in Wyoming is the same. I have a derringer of theirs i bought new in the 80s. Front sight is silver-soldered on and came off. Sent it back a couple years ago and they put it back on for no charge.

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?

I am with all who say they’d give it away. However, I’d be the same as the guy who said something like he’d invest it a while and then have more go give away. I already have plans to give a lot away in the future. A lottery win would just add to that.

So gasoline will still be plentiful when Putler cuts off the oil and NG?
  173. D

Battery based vehicles of today and tomorrow pt 2

Yes electric charges will go up. But gas costs more for the same miles driven. So what are u saying here?
  174. D

Battery based vehicles of today and tomorrow pt 2

OK, so that article i posted said more electric miles are driven in Norway, than are gas miles. How does an energy reduction in general change that ?
