    Mahindra 5010 after Report -- 3 1/2 years running

As promised! Here's my empshield video. Had someone on FB lose all the electronics on their sawmill because of lightening! Since my tractor and sawmill sit out at the cabin where I've had trouble already, I'm not taking any chances!

    Mahindra 5010 after Report -- 3 1/2 years running

I also just added an EMP Shield to it. I've had trouble with lightening on my sawmill (and someone in one of my other forums had their sawmill electronics all nuked by lightening) and since EMP Shield protects from lightening as well I decided to spring for it and install! Video coming on...

    Mahindra 5010 after Report -- 3 1/2 years running

Thanks!! I'll check that! Would be nice if that was the issue!!! Watermellon! lol yup, I suppose so! I beat mine like a red headed step child and it just takes it and keeps on trucking. I hope some day to get it out of the weather too but just haven't had the time and energy yet! It...

    Mahindra 5010 after Report -- 3 1/2 years running

Thanks for the reply! Good to know about those issues. My biggest struggle of late is the PTO -- something keeps stopping it from working but I won't have to look at it again now until spring as it's plowing season ;) Cheers! and thanks for the kind words!

PTO light is on but it will not engage

Did you figure it out? I had the same issue and had it fixed when mine was in for a blown axle seal...then recently I went to use the PTO and waddaya know the PTO won't work again! I am guessing maybe a relay or fuse but and looking for options to check next time I'm there.

    Mahindra 5010 FEL Joystick broke!!!

Hey all! Got it fixed! Thank you so much! :) I was lucky and the local shop had one and it was actually cheaper than other dealer prices I'd seen online which was nice, so shout out to Okanogan Truck and Tractor for having the part and selling it for a decent price! Woot!

    Mahindra 5010 FEL Joystick broke!!!

*chuckle* I'll admit, that thought crossed my mind but on the other hand, he was providing me with lots of free labor that really helped me out! So, I'm happy to fix the tractor even if it was he who caused the breakage (I'm not convinced really) as it would cost me considerably more to hire...

    Mahindra 5010 FEL Joystick broke!!!

:confused: Seems the little cast iron (I'm guessing) anchor for the FEL joystick broke on my 2012 Mahindra 5010 this weekend right before being able to drag some logs out of the woods I'd just bucked up. No idea how it happened as a friend was running the tractor for me but when he...

Grapple New 54" Grapple, first use

Yup, it does bow a bit there. I think the clamping force of the cylinders is greater than the holding force of the top bar which is round tube welded between the tines. I think it really needs something welded to the top of it to provide more rigidity, but it works pretty well otherwise.

Grapple New 54" Grapple, first use

Cool! I've wondered how the heavier ones would do. One day maybe I'll get one! We were in Moses for 5 years but moved back to the Tri-Cities in '20 (and I forgot to update my profile) Still practically neighbors :D

Grapple New 54" Grapple, first use

OK! Here it is. My review on the LS 54 Inch Grapple. I hope it helps someone here as I couldn't find a lot of video on this grapple (other than from salesman) when I was searching. And I think this will demonstrate the reason many recommend the big heavy grapples ;)

    Mahindra 5010 after Report -- 3 1/2 years running

Here we are in 2023 and almost 11 years from when I bought this beast and I'm still using and abusing it! But soon I'm going to protect it from lightening and or EMP! Woot! I hate the idea of losing equipment do to something I could have protected it from. Anyone else do this? I think...

Alright! Haven't busted it yet! Bent tines/teeth several times but am able to bang them out and keep on going when it happens. I've used it a fair amount since last fall and am doing a review soon on my YT channel. In fact today's video is mostly the tractor in action with the grapple...

I tend to feel it's more of a problem of the area (rock, rock and then more rock) but my wife tells me I'm a typical Marine -- like a Bull in a China shop! Grapple New 54" Grapple, first use

That's a much heavier grapple than this LS. Which means, I'll likely break it before too long but we'll see. It's funny, I said 7 years ago in my 3 1/2 year review of the tractor, not to buy cheap implements but then this was all that was available so I bought it and it was priced right ;)...

Well I have no doubt I'll find that out! ;) I will try NOT to break it of course, but I have a lot of work to do and I've pretty much broken every thing I use out there when it comes to the tractor LOL except the auger. I am hoping, however, that this grapple does the job! Luckily my neighbor...

Hi All, Thanks again for all the advice in the past as well as recently! I finally settled on the LS 54" root grapple as it was both in stock locally and priced right (Thanks Buck at EFC Equipment!). I also had Rod over at Okanogan Truck and Tractor add a diverter valve since they had the...

Sorry for the late reply, I had already gone with the diverted. I do like it though. I just push a button on the joystick and the just opens and closes and I can feather it if needed. So far I am pretty happy 😊 Will have a vid out next week about it and using it at the cabin 😉

Grapple Root Grapple for CUT recomendations

Thanks Guys, I picked up an LS Grapple (54") and am hopeful it will do the job. I had only two choices really, the LS or a Westorf. Grapple Root Grapple for CUT recomendations

Gotcha thanks Just emailed with the guy I bought my MaHindra from. He's telling me the 54" doesn't really pick up less than a 66" and since it's lighter gives you a little more lifting cap. But then, it's all he has in stock. I've checked around and most are saying "Good Luck" try us next year!

Grapple Root Grapple for CUT recomendations

Is it the BE-SSGB2254 by Braber? How did it work out? I'm looking at the same issue (trying to get work done before the snow flies and grapples are hard to come by) and have a choice of the Braber BE-SSGB2254 or the LS version.

    WESTENDORF BRUSH CRUSHER BC-4300 GRAPPLE

The above is not in stock either so I'm stuck with 54" grapples (LS or Braber) which are local. The Mahindra dealer tells me they have a 3rd member electronic switch that Mahindra uses to divert the bucket functions to the grapple. You push the button and the hydraulics are shifted to the...

    WESTENDORF BRUSH CRUSHER BC-4300 GRAPPLE

I am leaning towards hydraulic myself as I want a rake function as much as grapple. Being able to rake back and then scoop etc would be nice. The LS would get me in business right away and I suppose I could sell it if and when I decide to get a wicked. After all, with inflation that might be...

    WESTENDORF BRUSH CRUSHER BC-4300 GRAPPLE

looking at these has me contemplating my options. The MaHindra 5010 has a lot of loader capacity but the wicked grapple recommended to me from EA is about twice what either of the above run. I'm tempted to save a couple grand and try the 4300 since it doesn't need hydraulics but am not sure...

10 1/2 year update? Sure why not! Here are my original points from the 3 1/2year update with updates: 1. Buy heavier implements! Don't scrimp and buy a cheap plow blade. I broke mine twice three times and this last time also broke my three point which leads me to... 2. Don't plow in midrange...

I'm sure you will! I use mine to move logs to the sawmill (often two or three at once if they are smaller) and it lifts a ton! I think it's rated at 3500lbs but whatever it is, I push it! I also use it to plow snow, grade the driveway, build fire breaks and mow etc etc....and all on rocky...

The offending part. Notice the burned connector. The replacement with a Mitsubishi connector from the junk yard. Only problem I see is the Mitsu used smaller guage wires and the 10AWG wires on the tractor suggest they have more current or need more, going through them so it's possible the...

    Mahindra 5010 after Report -- 3 1/2 years running

I've been browsing the forums a bit today after a long break and thought I'd post a bit of a report/review on my 5010. I bought the tractor in June of 2012 and have put over 400 hours on it (heck maybe it's over 500 I'll have to check) and have beat it to near death a few times! However, it...

70+ hrs on my 5010 and loving it!

5010 at 36.5hrs and pretty darn happy

Just thought I would post this for all those interested. Seems I must have been working a little too enthusiastically with my box blade this last week. Not sure when...

Beat Juice -- does it freeze?
