Odd situation with shear pins and my blower

Have you been greasing the auger shaft grease fittings? I assume it has grease fittings? Since it was free after thawing, perhaps water/ice made its way into the shaft? Good Luck!

    Shear pin nightmare

The OP must be confusing Grade 5 bolts by calling them Grade 3?-for 3 hash marks on the head. Grade 2 usually make lousy shear bolts because they seldom break cleanly and tend to help elongate the hole. Wonder what Erskine recommends?

Who is excited for snow season? Not us! We're depressed due to lack of snow.

I've always been told maximum freeze protection is 2/3rds coolant-1/3rd water. However, the heat transfer ability of the coolant decreases as the percentage of AF/water increases. Lots of lake-effect here in the Tip of the Mitt!

Looking for inexpensive AW46 - Hydraulic Oil

To the OP I sold Service Pro products for 13 years at the parts store I retired from in 2019. Almost always a cost-effective solution and the products usually exceeded the posted specs. The recent price inflation of the last few years has made them less competitive around here. Good Luck!

Kubota 10W30 oil, synthetic or dino?

I'm surprised Kubota doesn't sell a synthetic but I've never seen one. And their manuals are so outdated on oil specs. They may figure buy it from them and you'll be fine. I've always used 10W30 dino in my units with no issues. Good Luck!

L3200 battery - is it special?

Contrarian view here. Tractors often see less usage then your car. Longer idle times increase plate sulfation. Standard batteries have fewer, thicker plates spaced further apart. Thicker makes them more vibration resistant and more space between plates allows for more buildup before plates short...

    Add an Aftermarket Temperature Gauge?

I've always loved the old 270 degree sweep mechanical temp gauges with that tubing going the the sending unit location. No electricity needed, except for lighting. It's neat to watch the temperature rise a little after the engine is turned off! Good Luck!

    Kubota overheated!

The coolant temperature gauge does not work if there is no coolant to measure the temperature of. Good Luck!

    Valve lash adjustment?

Surely it is in the WSM somewhere. The adjustment interval for Kubota seems to be 800 hours. That would be listed in your Operators Manual under maintenance schedule. The procedure would be under engine, perhaps cylinder head? Good Luck!

Is Zerex GO5 compatible with Kubota Coolant

Kubota coolant is the plain old green ethylene glycol. Just like the stuff used in automobiles until 1995-2002. Might need to go to the dealer,or an auto parts store to find it. I used it myself, but many prefer to upgrade coolant for various reasons. Good Luck!

Can anyone link me to a definition of a "firm whack"?

Many times at gas stations,I've seen the wrecker driver, that came to pick up a no-start,ask the owner to crank the engine while he gives the fuel tank several "firm whacks". It's surprising how often they start!

Is Shell VPower Premium ethanol free?

Yeah, they take 84 octane regular and 10% ethanol to get 87 octane fuel. 90 octane plus 10% ethanol yields 93 octane premium. That's why you see 90 octane "rec" fuel-no ethanol added. E85 in northern climates is reduced to E70 in winter months-poor ignite-ability at cold temps. And those in the...

Is Shell VPower Premium ethanol free?

Probably not ethanol-free,unless it is stated at the dispenser(pump). My tanker career from 2001-2009 educated me on additives. We used unbranded Marathon-437ml per 1000 gallons, about half a quart. Regular Marathon-500 ml/1000 gal. Shell VPower something like 750-770 ml/1000 gal. Additives...

On road here $4.99-$5.39-not many at $4.99 anymore. Called on farm diesel this morning-$4.39,no road tax & no sales tax. Propane customer owned tank-$2.09. Wanted some "rec" 90 ethanol-free Sunday. $5.39,a buck over 87 regular. Just couldn't bring myself to pay over 5 bucks! Just couldn't!

    B2781 blower on a B7610 question

I'm fairly certain you can do this. May I suggest contacting your dealer's salesman as they have Kubota's Whole Goods information. That blower would have been available on your tractor when new. No idea which subframe or mid-PTO kit works for your unit. Maybe try posting at Kubota...

Newbie Tractor Owner Gets An Old Diesel Tractor, recommendations for engine oil

Non-detergent SAE 30 is easy to find and very popular for air compressors. Some old-school guys with say '50s tractors still use it,especially if the engine hasn't been apart. Good Luck!

Three-on-the-tree was nice when new. Old when we got them, they seem to get stuck on the 1-2 upshift if not super careful! Then lift the hood and move both levers to neutral. Couldn't find the keys if I took them out. Hate that the new keys/fobs have no way to disable the key-in switch chime! Also, with today's vehicle prices,I'm driving late 2000's high mileage cars, hoping nobody wants them.
