    1250 with 6' brush hog

PTO 27hp, ~2700# machine I think a 6' should be fine. My tractor has similar hp (heavier, but doesn't make much diff here) and I'm running a 5' hog more because it was there and cheap when I was looking; I could definitely make use of a 6'. Check the clutch before you use it, of course.

    Reviews on Ozone Generators

Note that BBQ charcoal isn't the kind of charcoal people are usually talking about when the discussion is about eliminating odors. BBQ charcoal briquettes often have a lot of coal, limestone, starch, borax, nitrates, sawdust, wax, chaff in them; the actual charcoal you want for odors is often...

How to set pressure on Well Tank?

I just replaced the pressure tank for my irrigation setup. The pressure tank T package I got included a pressure relief valve right there, along with a drain and the pressure switch. Suspect the pressure relief there is a new guideline and it makes good sense for the reasons you gave - that...

How to set pressure on Well Tank?

Definitely leaving a lower faucet open is fine. obviously one higher than the bottom of the tank won't drain the tank, and closing faucets after the draining can put back pressure on the bladder as you fill it, so keep the faucet open. It's fine if there's a check valve above the tank and you...

How to set pressure on Well Tank?

If there's any water in the system when you go to adjust the air pressure you'll end up with an inaccurate reading, because with the faucets off there nowhere for the water to go, so you don't know that the bladder finished expanding unimpeded. Open the valves, leave them open while adjusting...

How to set pressure on Well Tank?

Aside from the drain question - if the switch cut off at 55 psi, either the switch isn't set right or the pressure gauge is reading wrong. This has nothing to do with the air pressure in the tank; the air pressure will just adjust how much water will be held under pressure in the tank.

How to set pressure on Well Tank?

Turn off the pump Drain the whole system Somehow You're sure there's no drain on the T in front of the pressure tank? Is there a hose bib somewhere at or lower than the tank that you can drain water from? Make sure there's no check valve between the tank and the bib.

    Chinese knockoff saws?

You should check out arboristsite.com it's a lot like TBN but for ... arborists, obviously, but there's a lot of overlap (and I've seen a number of others from TBN on there too) but there are some very active clone saw threads that'll get you far quickly. TL;DR - they sound kinda hit-or-miss...

I've got similar here; we had a ponderosa pine fall across the irrigation canal and I've though it would make a great bridge for the local bear to walk across so it doesn't have to go 200' further down the path to the roadway. Only kinda kidding, the other side is the neighbor's property but I...

    Looking to buy a tractor

I would strongly think about the backhoe option, as it tends to be very expensive. Consider if the amount of digging will be often enough that renting a mini-excavator - assuming that's available locally - would be inconvenient, as they tend to be much better diggers. My personal calculus here...

    Tree cutting accident

I think it helps that your typical battery saw has an overload protector and will cut the power if it digs in too far so that it doesn't torch the battery. Most likely plug-in electrics are like my plug-in hedge trimmer and that motor is putting out the torque as long as my finger is on the...

    Tree cutting accident

You can see that the electric saws eat more chaps. Also, your leg in chaps isn't quite like a solid log, and as the chaps get wound up in the chain, those chaps pulled away from the log, but the log is probably braced a lot better than your leg when you're trying to cut into it. I'm not...

    Tree cutting accident

I think the point is that the chaps will gum up the chain, yes, and the gas saw will be at 0 RPM on the chain and just spin the clutch if you keep the throttle on. The electric saw probably doesn't have a clutch because it doesn't need to have the chain stop while idling... because it doesn't...

    Tree cutting accident

I've pretty much trained myself that if I'm setting the saw down or pausing I flick my left wrist forward, probably what you're talking about like your friend. I don't even think about it, it's just part of the flow. As long as you don't try to run the saw through the brake it should have really...

Definitely worth it. I had rudimentary knowledge, read a lot, then went and took the class (which in CA lets you skip the DMV rider's test plus I got 10% off on insurance) and still learned a lot. The MSF classes out here provide the bike. Sounds like you possibly had target fixation or just...

I hate cable with a passion, just dealing with coiling & uncoiling it is bad enough and I don't ever want to deal with frays. Glad to heft around chain. Swisher Rough cut 52 only cutting one side

Tractor shifts but doesn't move in high gear

I wonder if there's a way to get some sort of solvent into the clutch space to possibly clean it - if there's a drain plug, might there be some access above? I know if a motorcycle dry clutch gets oil on it (*ahem* older bmw k-bike) it's pretty much done for but that's also because oil there is...

Swisher Rough cut 52 only cutting one side

Honestly I'm not sure what the pictures are showing; looks like there's like 1' getting cut to the ground and very little else, though without anything else for scale it's hard to see what's what. If there's really a left/right issue I don't think it's front/rear elevation but instead...

What have you done to your Branson today?

No tractor action pics, but I got a bunch of 30-100# rocks from various places on the land and moved them to my wife's new herb garden where she wanted stepping stones. Also did a bunch of oak tree pruning, including this set of branches over where my wife's got a raspberry patch in a...

Tractor shifts but doesn't move in high gear

Yeah I'm just curious because it sounds like a new problem, everything was fine, it ran away and now everything's wrong after the roll... but obviously it wasn't because bad things happened. Is the clutch wet or dry? I could see if it's a dry clutch, and just a bit of oil got to it which wasn't...

Right; I meant "see" as in with the eyes I may "see" the plane on fr24, but I quite literally did not see the plane. I suspect AFL1788 may have seen the plane. I strongly suspect a ground unit of the MoD saw the plane, though whether or not the actual government (beyond Shoigu) knew about...

The one thing that you wonder why you didn't buy sooner?

Definitely my tractor. My fault; my wife had always told me "if you think we should get one, get one" but I always thought I didn't have quite enough work to do with one and that I could rent if I had enough work pile up, but then I always got the shovel and wheelbarrow and did it with muscle...

I refer to AFL1788 being not very far behind the airplane carrying Prigozhin that was likely shot down. They were on the same flight path, similar altitudes; AFL1788 wasn't that far behind the ill-fated flight, which at least on my browser at the link provided showed the playback of the last...

    Fire extinguishers

I think when mowing in particular the concern is a grass fire from a rock being hit causing a spark. Chemical extinguishers usually work by smothering a fire, and in grass that's pretty tough to do.

    trail clearing technique and tools

They should be sharpened, yes. They should also not be used on dry wood for the most part; dry pine doesn't seem to be a problem but these are a bypass lopper and you should use an anvlid lopper for dry wood of any significant strength like oak (or, preferably, a saw).

How close are you to a “Local” dealer?

I bought 110 miles away. There's now a dealer 7 miles away, but honestly I don't know how long they'll be in business, they have a *huge* inventory for this area. I haven't needed any parts in years so I don't know if they'll be useful or not, and I do my own maintenance. My tractor hasn't...

Gross generalization incoming - but I know for a fact that my experience was far from unique. BSA in my town was big kids bullying the small kids and the scoutmaster and other helpers not doing a damn thing about it. I'm prepared, but it wasn't the BSA that taught me jack other than to stay...
