Relieving stress from top link tractor mount - 3 Pt backhoe

This is a good point… the kubota sub frame distributes the load to the loader mounts on the front of the tractor transferring the stress around to multiple points and not only on the back end of the tractor. It’s not only the weight of the backhoe on the 3 pt. to consider it’s the dynamic load...

I agree the duties / customs fees can be a significant unknown cost depending on how it’s classified and where it’s made. Does it say FOB (free on board) + port or city? If so, it would be shipped to that port / city free and you would be responsible for shipping from there to your location.

Was any item connected to these suppressors damaged? If it was me, and I did not loose any equipment other than the suppressor I’d consider myself lucky. It’s easy and simple to replace an inexpensive suppressor instead of the higher value items you want protected. I know they failed but better...

Dragging trees out of clearing, best method?

I took a different option as I did not want to spend 2 to 3 k on a grapple and front hydraulics so I bought a set of debris forks. If I remember correctly I spent about 250 but they either did not ship to canadá or the cost was pricey. And this was when the border was closed so I found a...

    landscape rakes?

Yes time can be your friend. I was searching for 2 ish years and found 4 different rakes in about 6 months. As other users have said sometimes used auction items go for virtually new prices and other online sales are overpriced even if high quality. Ended up finding an hd york rake with wheels...

1000ft long, 100ft elevation, twisty, gravel- front or rear mount?

I liked driving those versatile… swivel seat so you can drive forward… made clearing snow easier. Only downside is you needed to take off the loader to use the 3pt hitch

Removing a Subframe from a FEL. Issues?

Do you have a backhoe for your tractor? If so, I’d assume the subframe was an integral component to spread out the forces and prevent you from splitting the tractor in two. Otherwise I am having problems understanding what subframe you want to remove. I do not know your tractor model. Pictures...

Planting a 150 ft row of bushes. What is the best attachment to use?

What type of plants are they? What condition are the plants in? How long have you had them? For the past couple years I have not been able to plant all my trees quickly. Some were potted but others were root stock. By watering and careful placement of the pots while prepping for them, for...

    Best truck under $10k?

Just under a year ago I found a 2016 F150 4x4 xl sport 5 litre 8ft box with max towing with 275k km (about 170k miles) on auction and safety included. I won it for 11.5k cdn or about 9000us. Spent a couple grand on winter tires and rims, new battery, and had one brake seize. A part of me was...

    Never plant Bradford Pear

Thank you all… this is a great post for me. Over the next few years I want to clear some fields and plant hazels and other trees. I do not think they have become a problem in Ontario yet but good to avoid a potential problem.

    Locked Out

I read something or saw some utube where Ford offered a new feature, at least I think it was Ford, was adding a ‘secret’ faraday cage in the console to place your spare key. I don’t know if it is offered by any other manufacturers.

    Landscaping with a tractor?

Have you considered a mole plow? Basically a subsoiler/ ripper that drags a ‘torpedo’. The torpedo creates a channel that aids drainage. Not very common in North America but something to consider. https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/threads/mole-plow-yes-you-read-that-right.395061/

    Pat's Easy Change trouble

I just connected my pats this past weekend and changed implements a couple times. It took me a while to figure out that the pats on one arm remains at 12:00, but the other arm can rotate to about 1:00 causing it to bind. I only noticed this after readjusting pats, so I’m not certain if that will...

Fyi, costco had a few other brands of tool of chests / boxes online but they are more expensive compared to their kirkland branded tool chests. As far as I know, only the Kirkland brand is instore to inspect. Let us know what you find / decide.

I need some input on roll around tool boxes

Have you considered costco? In canada their inhouse Kirkland signature branded tool chest is, I believe, made by torin. It's a 44 inch 2 piece set. Before covid, was priced in store at 899 cdn but after a recent restock... now priced at 1199 cdn. I don't know prices in US but should be 25% less...

    Driveway gravel

To expand on this a little… do you drive and pack the snow to create a firm base before plowing early in the season, so that you are not constantly digging into the gravel? That should help to minimize the gravel that’s pushed off your drive. It gets a bit more challenging when you have melts...

Good Books.... Well, there are a few.

I stumbled upon Steve Berry maybe 5 years ago. His books involve a government agent / spy and some sort of historical time period / event / person… one such example is the terracota army. Also like James Rollins. Both are highly recommended.
