    PTO speeds

My bolens/iseki tx2140 runs just under 540 PTO RPMs at 2600 engine rpms in PTO 1. It has a small red dot on the tach that I presume means PTO speed. I've been able to also get 540 PTO RPMs at 2000 engine rpms in PTO 2.

    Bolens 152/1502 front hub

My little tractor is due for some regular service, in particular repacking the front hubs. These are a little different than I'm used to, they aren't tapered roller bearings, but open cartridge bearings with ball bearings. (they also have a castle nut with cotter pin) Do I still tighten things...

    Bolens G15 rear tire 29x12.5x15

I've got a bolens that calls for the same size as yours. From what I've learned, the 29-10-15 should work fine, but would be slightly narrower. Overall diameter is the same 29, and the 15 rim is too. There's not a lot of selection in our OE size anymore.

    Winter starting problems tx1500/tx1300

I had issues the first year I had my tractor. I found i had to get the right amount of anti-gel added to the diesel, enough of a battery, a good cycle of the glow plugs and enough throttle. If it's below zero, I have an oil pan heater I plug in overnight. Since that first year, it still kinda...

I watched a movie called 'The Outfit' with Mark Rylance. He did a great job acting in it, and I like the characters and the story. I've watched it twice with different friends/family, and everyone ignores the same key piece and doesn't see the ending coming.

    Snowblowing rules of thumb

I have used fluid film in the past, but got a wild hare this year. I got a bunch of wax from candle stubs, and heated the chute, impeller and anger with my propane torch just enough to melt the wax as I rubbed it over those parts. Didn't get it hot enough to bother the paint. I'm hoping the wax...

    Would You Loan It Out?

I too have had loaned equipment wrecked, and seen plenty wrecked that friends and family had loaned. One was a sander my brother in law had given to me. I loaned it back to him and he wrecked it. Tractor News What is driving up the demand for tractors?

By me, there has been an influx of people from NYC abandoning their digs in the city and moving to their second homes upstate full time. They largely seem to think that means they need a suburban and a 40hp tractor for their 20 foot drive and 2 acres of lawnmowing. The traffic increase is crazy...

    Submersible well pump recs please

I used to work for a water well driller and pump installer (quite a while back). I was always told the average life of a pump was 12 years. My personal experience is that if you don't have good water flow or you have poor quality water, you probably won't get close to that number. If you have...

    Oil & Fuel Fuel cans

    Diesel fuel Anti-jell

I've used power service (the white bottle) and also Schaeffer winter. The anti-gell seemed fine in my upstate NY climate (Ive had no gelling) Both products also add lubricity (helps the injector pump) which is low in most low sulphur diesel. I'm trying to be kind to my older tractor.

    Clutch change Iseki TX1510

I can't find a spec for that in my manual. Most of the torque specs I could find are for engine assembly (head, mains etc.) I'd say you should go by the size and grade of bolt being used. I'm honestly surprised I'm not seeing a spec other than arm height with the clutch.

I don't know how much fluid is in you particular tractor, but I think the slosh some diesel around following a couple full fluid changes (with a few hours operating in between) would get it pretty cleaned up, including the pump and cylinders. If it's a large tractor, 2 changes might get pricey.
