Both run kinda, we swapped the parts needed from the new one over to dads and it runs on fuel then dies pretty sure its sucking air into the system.The other one has a possibly bad injection pump, as it will run on ether which is how we loaded it.

Well things worked out in a awesome way. Started with dads tractor and done aqquired another one that is more complete and runs.

Weve been super busy but we did fiddle with the ol 31 some were thinking its the steering box under the dash because everything else is tight and functions.

Its a gear drive off the front timing case.

Oh that is true the cylinder isnt exactly new looking but he says it is the pump is pretty new looking hoses are shot though gonna try to get better pics and more info later on today.

We use it to move stuff around but its a pain to drive without the steering functioning.

The 31 industrial in my own opinion was a special mix breed type tractor, it shares parts with so many other models including the drivetrain but this one is different due to its logging setup that we think is either factory/dealership stuff or home brewed.

So me and my neighbor use a 1970s era Massey 31 industrial logging tractor it has a new power steering pump (gear drive off the front gears of the engine) new hoses and cylinder, it steers fine when you first fire it up and take off but once the engine and pump get warm you have to lift the nose...

It spins over fine has great compression just havnt had a chance to get it running as its not a important project, my time has been dedicated to getting my work truck back up and going as its needed bad.

Well its been a while and ive gotten zero work done on the tractor due to other issues and once again its on the back burner so I guess I will get to it when I can.

Oh yah ive got a few parts to order todays plan was to see if the starter worked but it let the magic smoke out

Update for anyone following along so for a while ive been saving up a bit of cash to put towards the tractor and so far things are looking up eventually gonna order the new injectors water pump a full gasket kit for the engine and a starter simply due to both starters I have are junk hoping to...

A lil update once again my stepfather picked up a set of innertubes and got the front tires holding air.

Update time again while digging in the shed I found a old starter and injection pump for it and the wheel weights

Update time I havnt gotten around to the tractor as I wanted to we had a slight change in plans so hopefully before the end of the year I might can get back to it without much issues coming about.

Id love to track down dads 99 but I was still a kid when mom sold it after dad past it was a good truck to us.

The aftermath of me and the komatsu thats older than dirt, poor old things been ran hard and put away wet its whole life as a rental unit then it became a farm machine, it runs almost perfect minus the typical black smoke.

I cant quit afford em yet but once I can it wont be long and it will be in the woods doing what it did best.

Naw I wish they did that way we would have some sort of competition but they only laid eggs and made good meat birds.

My father used to have a 99 2 door tahoe on a 9 inch lift z71 package he beat the guts out the poor thing and it never quit, until he eventually destroyed the original drivetrain and swapped in older used gm bits and pieces. Aslong as you take care of it they are good trucks.

A lil update I found a complete set of injectors for 89 bucks apiece which is probably the best option since these injectors have been apart for who knows how long.

I did find 1 piece which can be seen someone dropped it onto the top of the injection pump so I threaded it back in

I have looked around online but most of what im seeing is the entire injectors instead of just the banjo bolts and what not for the return sides of the injectors if I can get those bits it could run.

It still spins over with a breaker bar and the oil is black but looks good my father got his moneys worth out of it while he had it but its been sitting for the last 8 or so years non running
