    Rod size for euro hooks

Thanks for the tips. I don't claim to be a farmer or a welder but these aren't the first items I have welded, just nothing so thick. It's always interesting when the experts chime in, on any subject... I'm just going to have them run exactly as the stock ends are. Mine are the cat 1 hooks so...

    Rod size for euro hooks

My mig is only 175amp so that may be a little small in this instance.

    Rod size for euro hooks

I have a 220v hobart mig and I do the majority of my welding with it. I thought stick would be preferred in this instance due to the thickness. I was going to tack it with my mig and stick finish.

    Rod size for euro hooks

Thanks. I'm going to buy some 6011. The hooks come pre beveled and I will match it on the arms. Can you please explain why a 3/32 for the root? From thickness tables etc and some googling I see 1/8 recommended.

    Rod size for euro hooks

Thanks for the tips and encouragement. I will pick up a 2lb box of 1/8 rod as a filler also, seeing as I will be at the store and it's cheap. It's not like I asked how to weld a hitch on a trailer or something that could put a life at risk. I've welded plenty of stuff and nothing has broken...

    Rod size for euro hooks

Exactly...How does anyone learn without the actual doing. My little 220v welder can accomplish the task and I've welded 3/8 metal with it.

    Rod size for euro hooks

Thanks. From quick research it looks like 6013 is similar but doesn't have as much penetration as the 7014 I have? So far the front runner is the 6011 for the root and then I can finish off with my 7014.

    Rod size for euro hooks

Thanks for the rod recommendation. I see 6011 is better for deep penetration in thick metal.

    Rod size for euro hooks

Hi Guys, Just wondering what rod size I should use for welding euro hook ends (cat 1) onto my Kubota l2501 lift arms? I have some 3/32 7014. They will be beveled and I will do multi passes. I've never welded anything this thick before. I don't have a rod oven. Feel free to give me any handy...

    Amazon 3rd function kits

That's why I asked for feedback from anyone who had installed one of these cheaper kits. Just because they can't write proper English, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the product.

    Vicsec VC13 mini-excavator

Thanks for the detailed reply. Well my old Satoh tractor was quite the beast and after a day of using it I felt like it had run me over several times. I now feel like I'm riding around in a limousine on my Kubota L2501. It's hydraulics were jerky as.... Nice analogy but not sure these things...

    Vicsec VC13 mini-excavator

Hi zwelch, Just wondering how you are getting on with your little digger? I am in the market for one and have never owned a digger before. I am watching the VC13 on a local auction site. I see you have larger machines, which I assume have pilot controls? I have seen mentioned a lot, that...

    Looking at a 2002 Challenger MT 295

I did not. Decided I didn't want to buy another orphan tractor. Ended up getting a Kubota L2501 and glad that I did.

2014 l4600 does it have an ECU?

The L4600 ended up being larger than what I needed, but I felt it was also over priced. I ended up buying an L2501 HST with 106hrs on her, and a couple of years left on warranty. Does more than I need and I've put nearly 30hrs on her.

2014 l4600 does it have an ECU?

I don't have a fear of the modern stuff apart from the requirements of a dealer being able to pull codes. If it wasn't for that I would buy a newer tractor. The 2014 I'm looking at is basically the same price it sold for and about the same price as a lightly used 2-3 yr old tractor. I've got...

2014 l4600 does it have an ECU?

Thanks for that. I had seen the first page of that in my search and the "E" part of the E-TVS raised my concerns about an ECU. Going to check her out tomorrow

2014 l4600 does it have an ECU?

Thanks for the reply. It doesn't list any type of ecu but I wondered if there was one in the dash assembly as that is a pricey item.

2014 l4600 does it have an ECU?

Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the parts breakdown on kubota and don't see any EGR items listed, nor any sensors other than oil and temp. I had read online that interim tier 4 had some added sensors/egr etc but that must only be for certain manufactures, perhaps.

2014 l4600 does it have an ECU?

Hi guys, I'm in the market and this model has caught my eye. Its a 2014 with HST. This is listed as an interim tier 4 model. I am wondering does it have a computer that will need a special scanner to work out what is wrong or will I be able to work on it myself? What does it have in regards...

    2002 era MF 1445

Hi Guys, I'm looking for some info on this machine, or close models in the same line/years :ie parts availability and general quality/problems. I am actually going to look at a Challenger MT295 who is the yellow brother to this tractor. I haven't been able to find a great deal of information...

    Crank driven hydraulic pump upgrade

The response has been overwhelming :ROFLMAO: I wasn't able to work out all the details. So I welded up the damaged coupler and repaired it. I filed the flats on the pump shaft and had built up the coupler slightly to account for the shaft. Works like a champ again. I've parked it and am going...

    Looking at a 2002 Challenger MT 295

Hi Guys, I'm going to check this old girl out. Less than 400hrs and supposed to be in great shape. Looks good in the photos. Around $15K. Dealer has a pretty good reputation from what I have found online and sounded like a straight shooter when we spoke. I've read they are decent tractors and...

    Crank driven hydraulic pump upgrade

Hi Guys, My Satoh 650g has possibly the worse designed crank to pump coupler ever. It is 2 pieces of metal stock with a keyway and then 4 bolts to hold each half together. The crank adapter and pump both have a "double D" shaft. Problem with it is that the end that holds the pump shaft only...

National loader #16 Hyd control valve problems

The engine is a 4cyl gas Mazda PB100. It's rated around 25hp. 3 fwd gears, high and low transmission with a rear diff lock. It is 2wd only. The crank pump is the only one. The factory power steering flow divider for this tractor was installed on the supply/pressure line "I" just about where it...

National loader #16 Hyd control valve problems

In my second photo you will see the 2 hoses coming out of an aluminum block. Ok, on the gauge, that makes sense now to put it there and I can see the benefit. If my steering box was not so badly damaged I would look to put the power assist on. Funnily enough I am a Ford hot rodder and I have...

National loader #16 Hyd control valve problems

I did look at some of the 8gpm valves and they were all considerably more expensive. I know you get what you pay for and if this was a machine I relied on for a living I would spend the money. At my infrequent usage I would hope one of the cheaper valves should last me 10 yrs. Yes my valve does...

National loader #16 Hyd control valve problems

Good to know. Is it best practice to have a pressure gauge plumbed into the system to see exactly what its set at and incase of problems? If so where would I plumb it? The 3 pt is involved. In those last photos it shows the 2 hoses coming off a block which is the hydraulic tank. In that same...

National loader #16 Hyd control valve problems

Thanks for the reply and extra questions. I don't know what I don't know about hydraulics :ROFLMAO: It does have a 3pt on the back and the 2 hoses that supply and return are fed from the rear hydraulic tank. I know from looking at the manual about the flow/psi from the hydraulic pump and just...

National loader #16 Hyd control valve problems

Thanks. Well I know the 4 hoses going in the top are 1/4 NPT as I replaced them last year. Not sure the size of the In and Out hoses are. Will need to find a guide of how to measure them. I'm not worried about the "lock in" feature as that slows the movement right down. Not sure why I would...

Hi Guys, I have an old Satoh tractor which has the above FEL on it. Power steering conversion on my kubota B8200

Great write up. I'm just wondering the weight of your tractor with implements? I have an old Satoh 650g and the steering box is cracked badly. S 650 G Transmission shifter won't move into 1st or reverse? Any idea what causes this? Does anyone have a parts diagram for the transmission

I just went through this on my 650g. Unbolt the rectangular top plate from the transmission. Spray some wd40 etc on both top rails where they go in and out of the case, front and rear. Put some paper towels or rags under them to catch the over spray otherwise it will contaminate the oil. Bolt...

Hi Guys, I have a Satoh 650g I am getting running again. It has an Fel and the steel lines are really rusty just where they end and the soft hose goes to the control levers. So rusty that one of them split when I placed a small load on the system. I need to move the tractor and just want to...
