    Alternate Hydraulic Oil and Filter

Looks like two filters both underneath the floor boards. One in the center and one to the left. https://www.messicks.com/catalogs/new-holland/tc33d-3-cyl-compact-tractor-deluxe-09-99-12-0/07-hydraulic-systems/05f02-05f02-hydraulic-piping-w-hst

old 4300 pulling even older brush cutter - better alternative?

When you say you can't make it up the hill, do you mean the engine is bogging down? Or do does the engine stay at PTO speed (2600 RPM) but your ground speed slows down? I looked at your old posts and you've had issues with the transmission and at one point mentioned not having a hydraulic oil...

    Loader Fittings ID

Are you getting hoses made to attach to that fitting? If so I'd remove that elbow and see what the valve body connection is, hopefully SAE/O-Ring Boss. That way you can use a standard ORB<>JIC elbow and use hoses with JIC end. The valve body could also be BSPP. Less common in the US, but...

Kubota l3400 front end loader mount's

Is this the same loader you posted about for your Iseki? If so it looks like you could adapt the uprights from that. My brother has an L3800 with Kubota loader, not sure if the frames are the same size but will be visiting his place for Christmas.

    Ehydro issue

When it's acting up, if you run the engine at idle and hold down the forward pedal while in gear, do you hear any noises coming from the transmission? When I first bought my 4400, the transmission would "chatter" due to low charge pressure. I could hear what turned out to be trans pump...

    Ehydro issue

I'd lean toward electrical. Can you tell if the engine loads down at all when it won't move and you're pushing the pedal all the way down? I'd try easy stuff first like check/re-mate any connectors down low associated with the hydro...maybe got a stick jammed in the wiring while brush hogging...

JD 4300 hits a brick wall????

If you were 3 quarts low in the front axle and kept running it my bet is you have some bad bearings and/or damaged gears in the front axle. Jack it up and spin things back and forth by hand, a mechanics stethoscope helps to isolate where noises are coming from.

My Senior design project - a "Swamp Thing" tracked vehicle clone

That is a strange size shaft. I've not seen it done before, but I'm wondering if there is any technical reason you couldn't mount an electric clutch on the jack shaft instead of the engine? That way you can size the jack shaft diameter to whatever clutch you come up with...in this case you'd...

Metal building install- looking for ideas

My uncle had a dirt floor in his garage. I remember when be bought a bigger dump truck it wouldn't fit through the garage door...so he dug a foot of dirt from the floor to make it fit. Worked ok until it rained. If it were me I'd figure out a way to concrete at least a portion so you can roll a...

Old rotary cutter turned post hole digger?

I'm all for a project but have you priced an auger in your area? I picked up a gently used Danuser 3 pt mount PHD with 24" auger for $500 a few years ago. I see them pop up for sale periodically. I can't imagine you could build something for much less than that with similar usability. If I were...

    BSPP question

I just saw this post. I bought the 4 spool version of this valve on eBay and it isn't as crusty as I was expecting considering the price. Discount hydraulic hose has the BSPP-JIC adapters in stock, a bit more expensive than SAE-JIC but not bad. The pain was getting a power beyond sleeve, took 2...

crazy steel prices - should I import from China?

Are you factoring in shipping to/from the port of entry, broker, dock charges, etc? A couple years ago I looked into this for crated finished goods (Chinese CO2 laser table), and the very attractive price advertised online isn't nearly as good once all the extra fees are paid. Also shipping...

Sick of Paying Tractor Part Prices.... Make Your Own....(3D Printed)

Been using Freecad for almost a year now, love it. Not a tractor part, but most with a tractor probably have run into this. The new style fuel cans have super weak cap rings. One came broken, then a second one broke even after getting rid of the spring loaded junk that make them take forever to...

    Hydraulic In Row Mower?

Couple thoughts (I'm no hydraulic expert). Your remotes are probably plumbed upstream of your 3 point hitch, feeding the 3 point through the power beyond port of the SCV. In other words when you actuate your remote, will the 3 point raise simultaneously? Perhaps not an issue if you don't need...

Years ago I learned AutoCAD 2000 but hadn't touched it in years. Since I got my printer, I've been using Freecad for several months. Open source, totally free parametric modeler, pretty amazing what it can do. Joko Engineering makes really good tutorial videos on YouTube, sometimes comparing...

Sick of Paying Tractor Part Prices.... Make Your Own....(3D Printed)

My ender 3 pro cost $200, have another $150 or so invested in different filaments. So from a strict $ standpoint it takes a while, but for me being able to CAD something up, print it out same day without dealing with traffic or shipping is worth the investment. Like Bill I didn't think it would...

    Shape/materials for a hand-loaded, non-scooping FEL "bucket"?

Maybe weld a 3 point quick attach adapter to your ssqa plate and use your existing 3 point carry-all but on the front loader, presumably for dumping into a taller pile. Or you could make another 3 point carry all and use both at the same time, one on front and one on back...then use the loader...

JD 4300 stops moving in forward and reverse after a few minutes - engine still runs

Is it fixed? For the steering valve to be causing the problem, it would have to be forcing all the flow over the relief. Running without a suction screen, probably got crud in it. I bet it just needs disassembled and crud cleaned out. Most dealers just put new parts in because it's easier...

    Phase Converters

I bought VFDs used on Craigslist. Paid around $300 for a pair of them with breakers. Be careful buying old ones though, the capacitors can go bad if they sit unused for a long time. I ran them unloaded for a few days after wiring them up.

Update on my pole barn project

T111 will last a long time with a little attention to detail. The house we bought came with a 12x12' shed sided with painted T111. Judging by the trees that had grown up around it and Romex stamped 1998, about 20 years old. I had to replace the panels on one gable side and rebuild the doors 5...

    Forks

Well done. I also got some free worn out forks that are way too heavy for my tractor and made a frame from scraps and left overs. Ran out of time to enclose the ends so ground two notches near the ends for the pins will snap into them before sliding all the way off. Our property is fairly...

I have a 4300 that needed some work. In the process of fixing everything I disassembled the seat base to paint it. Unfortunately both bolts snapped off in the powdered metal pieces that slide in the channels. I've soaked them in PB blaster, WD40, etc for weeks and drilled nearly the whole...

Building a Shop / Weld Table

Keep your eyes open for fab shops closing down. I paid around $150 at auction for a 4x8 table with 3/4" steel top and heavy duty legs. I couldn't come even remotely close to building one for that. It weighs well over 1000 lbs so have to use a forklift to move it into the driveway. Wheels...

    Finding the right pulley

I recently picked up a basket case Lesco commercial zero turn mower for cheap. Allegedly it had been sitting a couple years because the right hydro pump had died. They had the pump out already before I got it, and they couldn't find the pulley, fan, key, and nut to go with it. No big deal I...

MX4700 tractor split need help removing seal

Not sure on your tractor but on a L48 which is probably similar, it was a bit of a pain getting that shaft out. I had it split behind where you did also at the clutch housing. Ended up hammering out the shaft with that section of housing on the floor held up on blocks of wood. You might luck...

Building a stationary motorcycle lift in my shop.

I bought a used pneumatic handy lift like others have mentioned. It fits perfectly under my work/welding table when not in use. If I had a 2 post lift I'd probably build some sort of adapter, unless you want to be able to lift a motorcycle and car at the same time.

Need 'Break-Away Kickstand' ideas for landscape rake

A simple idea is cut your pipe down so it reaches an inch or so out the top of the larger pipe on your frame. Weld a washer or collar onto the pipe about 3-4" down to hold the weight while it's sitting on the kickstand. Don't use a pin, so then when you pick the rake up next time the pipe...

It's hard to measure with the backhoe on, took a pic just now but doesn't show much. I'll be able to take better pics and measurements this Friday. There have been changes to the attachment hardware. The original design I believe just used the two plates, but there was a change after people...

Building a Power Rake (Harley Rake)

One of the projects on my (very long) list is a 3 point power rake for behind my JD 4400. 48 Backhoe Pin Material?

4400 tractor with 48 backhoe. The bucket pivot pin looks like it was never greased from the previous owner and is veeerrry tight so much that it squeaks loudly when the bucket is curled. I've tried heating what I can access on the outside of the dipper trying to get it to take grease, but I...

LED light bars for lighting ice rink....your thoughts?

I've bought a couple of the Snap-On LED work lights at Costco. They're rated at 2,000 lumens and consume 25W. Cost was about $30 each but they might have been on sale at the time. One light I leave sitting on my blasting cabinet, the other I hang inside the truck hood or tractor roll bar for...

    JD 4400 HST transmission chatters

    JD 4400 HST transmission chatters

I've driven an ehydro before, I can't imagine why anyone would use that function. It's like you're controlling the transmission with a rubber band. Started looking through the tech manual, my best guess is a problem with the charge pressure relief valve. Either a broken spring or debris...
