    Mobile diesel transfer tank

Here's some pictures of the one we built a few years back. Everything except the pump was junk we had laying around. The paint job is a little over kill for a fuel trailer, but we has some left over black chrome powder that needed a home. Before blasting and paint.

    My pig roster

Looks good Jack. It doesn't look like you are planning a fire box, so what do you plan to use for a heat source? Here is a picture of 3 of the 5 smokers we had cooking a few months ago. All loaded with Boston Butts.

    Lightning and cows

I had a 4 year old registered black angus bull that I have been raising for a replacement bull. I had him in a small pasture directly behind my house for the last year or so. Yesterday afternoon we had a line of severe thunderstorms roll through. High winds, heavy rain and severelighting. I was...

    Blow-in insulation behind pegboard?

Eddie, It really depends on what kind of shop you have. If it's a house style structure (stick built wall, with a ceiling and roof line) then fiberglass bats can be and option, but if it's a red iron building or a included pole barn built with purlins than your options are fewer. Either way...

How to fix a leaking water trough

We have two of our water troughs that were leaking around the seams. Mainly due to normal use, although one is really not that old. I brought them to the shop and we sprayed them with 2 1/2 inches of close cell foam. Problem solved so far.

    4x4 Truck Build

Dieselcrawler, I was finally able to get started on the truck build I mentioned a few weeks ago. Here are a few pictures. Not a lot to see yet, but several hours of work to get to this stage. Working on the ride height, body placement and stock mounts.

    Dog drama

If he was concern about the dog, he would have been out knocking on doors looking for it. Heelers tend to attached themselves to just one person and from some of our comments, I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't already picked you and it doesn't matter what your neighbor may think about it...

New garage, but it's too hot to work in it.

Hopely you won't have the confetti problem like I do. Below is a picture of a Fab shop we sprayed a while back. 3" of closed cell foam painted white.

    Enclosed trailers?

Sorry, it's been a long day. We sprayed it with commercial spray foam equipment. The pictures I posted earlier (8 x 28 enclosed trailer) is our new commercial spray foam rig. I guess it's hard to know what's inside unless your familar with foam. We plan to have the trailer warped, but just have...

    Enclosed trailers?

If you have the extra time and don't mind the work, there are some good deals to be found on used trailers. As others have said, check it out good and know what you are buying. Here's a few pictures of an older trailer that's being rebuilt. We just shot the walls and roof with 1" of closed cell...

    Enclosed trailers?

Here's my 2015 Eagle 8 x 28 manufactured by Freedom Trailers. I have only had it for a few months now, but so far I really like it. It's well built and pulls like a dream. It may be more than you are looking for, but they build smaller BP also.

3-point hitch - How does the mechanism work?

I just happen to have one apart in my shop now with a stuck lift piston. I will say, this is the worst one I have ever seen. Per the owner, the tractor has been setting up for around three years, but I'm thinking he might be off by a few years. I gave up trying to get it out as it's junk...

    Fence corner

Here are a few pictures of my standard corner/pull post. I like using the big ends of used utility poles (~12 to 20 inches), 3' deep packed with dry sand. I sometimes will add concrete (2 bags) if my sand is a little wet. I cross braced with a 4" to 5" post and pull it all together with high...

    Smartphone Photo of the Day

Here are a few of the pictures the new kid we hired took a few weeks ago with his phone. I didn't know he took them until recently. Some are pretty dang good. He explain the editing process he done, but I gave up tring to understand what he was talking about. The one with the wheat field...

    2014 Hay Season

We have been in overdrive the last several days trying to stay on schedule. We have been blessed with rain so far this season, so when we do get a few open days there's no stopping, but I like the fast pace and 18 hour days. Depending on the time of day and the weather, we have jumped from...

    Your towing rigs and trailers

We picked up this 07 F450 to build us another farm truck. We added the CM bed last week and tested it out hauling the new 140 home. We have a few more additions/upgrades before it's finished.

    Fencing Land Has Anyone...

I agree with Gary, I can't see a PVC corner post holding much on anything and I wouldn't try it. I mainly use an H brace with one large pole cut from the butt end of an old utility pole. The sizes range from 12 to 20 in, I put them 3 ft in the ground and pack them with a mixture of concrete...

    Small Bush Hog Mower

I'm going to start mowing the late season growth in some pastures and hay fields this week. Trying out this small Bush Hog mower. At 20 ft, it sort of makes the old 14 ft mower look small.

    Snapping Corn

I thought that I would share a few pictures of our new adventure. For the most part, we have always tried to grow and grind our own feed. I have been talking with some folks about improving my cow feed and using whole ear corn always seems to come up, so we have decided to snap a few acres of...

    2013 Hay Season

Friday afternoon we decided to use my neighbors tractor and small round baler to try and "ease" across some of the wettest areas. The lighter tractor and baler did help, but even it was too much for some spots. We bogged it down three times, but we were able to get it baled. The forecast seems...

    Fuel Trailer

A few months back I mentioned that we were building a fuel trailer and that I would post some pictures. This was a "round to it" project and there is still a few things to finish but it's almost complete. The original plan started out simple, just take some scrap metal from around the shop...

    New Fence Finally Going Up.

Sorry for the delay, it's been a busy week so far. We have already unhooked it from the tractor doing some other stuff but I picked it up with the hoist to get two good pictures. It anyone happens to know the manufacturer I would appreciate it. Please overlook the nasty shop!

    New Fence Finally Going Up.

We were finally able to get started putting up some of our new fence. We got a 1,000 of the 3,500 that we have been able to clear so far put up and 2,000 of our alleyway up. Long way to go but at least a start.

    Pond Questions

I agree that properly coring the dam is the most important part of building a pond or second only to picking the right location. Remember that a leaking dam may not necessary shown up as a wet spot on the dam. Sometimes a leak will run underneath the dam and it may not surface to several hundred...

    Muddin in Canmer, Ky

Well…. It’s a 97 Ford Ranger body and chassis but from there it’s pretty much all custom built. It has a Dana 44 front axle and a 9 in Ford under the rear. A highly modified C6 trans with reverse valve body and trans brake. The stall is a 8 in 6,500 RPM and we use a 208 aluminum transfer case...
