    Intermittent starting problem

Two areas I would look at are 1) battery circuit corrosion. Check battery posts for corrosion and follow the cables to the alternator and frame and check for corrosion there as well. 2) solenoids. Many tractors have engine cutoff and start solenoids that can begin to fail intermittently...

How do you keep the trailer backup battery charged. (or do you)

I just charge the battery when I need it or replace if necessary. I freely admit negligence regarding the backup battery. I am far more conscientious when it comes to my safety chains. In my mind the chains are “an ounce of prevention”, and if some event occurs where the chains come into play...

Above Ground Water Storage Tank (2,000 GAL)

A modern fire truck pumps water at the rate of 1500 gallons per minute. So u will get about 1 minute 20 seconds of fire fighting from a 2000 gallon tank. Just something to consider. Do you enjoy swimming pools? An above ground 21 foot round pool is about 10,000 gallons and it would serve a dual...

Cruise control issue on wife's car

Check at the brake pedal where the cancel switch contacts the pedal. Some of the Asian carmakers have a rubber plug or hard plastic stop on the pedal that as it wears it will break the contact simulating a “cancel”. Maybe with temperature changes the shrinkage/expansion of the material is just...

    Band Mill Blades...

Vortex is a wood miser brand as far as I know; it is a specialized blade for sawdust removal. Timberwolf speaks to sawdust removal in their guide and mentions around 80% sawdust removal as being ideal to allow cooling of the blade during the cut. I’m not an expert by any means but in general...

Ford 9N - Retrieve it or Leave it?

From the picture you posted it’s not a 9N it’s an 8N. I’d say it’s worth it but only because I love old tractors. As others have already said, if u enjoy restoration and have the time and space u will have some fun.

Project IHI 35J excavator bring back to life

A quick check for intra cylinder (bad cylinder piston seals) leakage is to raise the boom, stick and bucket, shut off the machine and see if either boom, stick or bucket bleed down. I noticed the bucket cylinder missing in the picture maybe you’ve already done all those checks.

Any HVAC Experts On Board? Lennox?

Post driver - what do you use?

An HD 10 requires 12 GPM hydraulic flow for optimal performance. The DK4510 I believe, only produces 9.6 GPM on the implement side of the pump at 2600 engine rpm. Before you start buying or renting equipment, it may be beneficial to put on paper a cost-benefit analysis of doing the work...

Jinma 3pt lift shaft (15" not the 14") Having no luck in a new one. Mine is so twisted. Any suggestions??

This is a fairly simple shaft to have machined if other sources can not provide. Just a guess at cost is about $25 for material (assuming 24 inches of 1 5/8 1018 round bar). 3 hours shop time at $110/hr. So between $350 - $400 at a local shop.

If you will be doing a lot of thin gauge work in the future, invest in TIG. Or just keep on keeping on with what ur doing but try some aluminum heat sinks near the weld ( of course success will be limited when trying to close up a cylinder shaped object like a muffler).
