Need advice on maximum slope that is capable of being traversed

We are planning some roads through some rough terrain. Through some advanced GIS data we are able to get fairly accurate elevation values at 100' intervals along the proposed roads. Assume a purely vertical slope - by that I mean the path will be flat in the direction perpendicular to the way...

Thanks for the replies. I guess my issue is making the mark more than anything. I plan on making the cut with a torch. I can calculate vertically where the marks need to be. That is not at all my intention. I am not asking from a thing from Kubota. I called my dealer and asked him to find me a new one. I honestly just thought the rops was stronger than it is. RTV ROPS - beware

I wouldn’t really call it modified either. It had a sun shade canopy and the tweels both were added by the dealer at the time of purchase. Modified to me would be if we had a lift kit or welded something on to or drilled holes in the rops. We did not. The canopy was clamped on.

It wasn’t a cliff. The trail it was onwe created with a dozer last week. The Kubota drove down it two times before flipping on the third. The slope wasn’t straight down it had a slight sideways tilt to it. I think what happened is a front tire fell into a small hole and the rear end starting...

Another thing to do is before you get near the tractor slide the PTO shaft back and forth and make sure it telescopes freely. Yes many times grit on the splines is the cause of the problem but if it takes a lot of force to telescope the shaft it greatly adds to difficulty of hooking things up.

Zero turn vs hst tractor reliability

If your 10 acre orchard is as full of trees as I am envisioning a 6’ zero turn will mow it at least twice as fast as a tractor with a 6’ mower. I have a 6’ diesel kubota mower and a tractor with 8 & 10’ cutters. If there are obstacles in the way the zero turn is much faster.

Ballast to prevent overloading of front axle

I have enough weight on my rear tires that tipping is not a concern. Not sure what brands you are looking at but Ford will allow you to custom build a truck with a derated GVWR. I think you can do a F-350 SRW at 11,500 and a dually at 13. I'm not really sure how they plow the centers of the pivots but for the majority of the field the turn is very gradual. How would you attack a small fenced field?

Correct. It is not good to turn when ground engaging implements are in the ground. Mowing the field is a lot easier I can make loops and overlapping here and there is no big deal.
  138. bdog

How would you attack a small fenced field?

I’m not sure what you mean about the big equipment. I was referring to a 7’ implement in my example. If it were 3.5’ wide I have to turn around 70 times but if if we’re 14’ I would only have to do so 18 times. I am planting hybrid sorghum-sudan or winter wheat depending on the season.
  139. bdog

How would you attack a small fenced field?

It is fenced with welded pipe fencing. 2-3/8” posts every 8’. It is a property boundary on two sides and my driveway on another. The other side is basically the divider between this field and my front lawn. We open the gate between this field and the 15 acres and graze cattle on the crops we plant.
  140. bdog

I have an area that is 240’ x 240’ square and fenced on all four sides. It adjoins a larger 15 acre field and has been getting plowed and planted every year along with the larger field. RX hydraulic top link

Does anyone know the retract / extended lengths needed for a RX hydraulic top link or a part number that works good for one? I am out of town working for a week or so so I can measure my OEM link but wanted to order one so I would have it when I get home.
