Is there any interest out there for a set (4) of R1 (AG tread) tires for a DK series tractor. They have 95% tread remaining (less than 2 miles on roads). I’m thinking $1,500 range Willing to deliver free with in 100 miles of Naples NY

Short answer - Loving it!! It replaced a Kubota L3400. Pimped out with extendable link arms and stabilizer kit, 2 rear remotes ( used for leveling and top link hydraulics), and Piranha tooth bar. Pros: Love the shuttle shift, wider stance, synchro mesh, increased weight and hydraulic power...

For what it’s worth; I would be wary of buying a machine from a “non-dealer”! (RK etc.) Warranty, parts, and future resale value would be my concerns. Also just general accumulated knowledge when you have questions.

Check out the CK series - I don’t know what the loader capacity is - but the smaller frame size makes it noticeably more nimble - although a little tippier if you have a hilly property.

P.S. I am impressed with Kiotis overall quality.

Can you be a little more descriptive of “doesn’t work well”. Must not have been horrible if he loved it and you are planning on using it for even bigger holes. Was it just slow, or did you need to resort to hand work?

Just like the thread title says; looking for anyone who has experience with a hydraulic auger on their FEL. How did/does it perform? Auger sizes? Soil conditions? Maintenance issues? Would you buy it again?

Ask your buddy to rent it for a week (rental $$ applicable towards sale if you buy). You should know in a week if it will do what you want!

If you are not mowing tall grass, and your tractor has the HP; you can set the mower “reverse tilt” - higher in the front. That gives you a double cut with the blades - that and opening up the back should give you a nice cut. You just might have to reset the tilt do do tall stuff though.

What is the % mix of pavement/dirt that you are running your tractor on - and what implements are you using?

Thanks - will check on that. I know that it increases the wheel weight substantially - maybe that’s the issue.

Mower higher in back than front (1-2”) - if that doesn’t work, Then remove the plate! You may need to change the top link attachment point on the tractor end to facilitate getting the mower higher in the rear.

A roto tiller followed by a York rake may be a viable solution too - easier to get properly sized implements and may rent for comparable $$s.

Before you buy a quick hitch check out Pats easy link system - a little slower, but much more versatile and doesn’t crowd the rear of the tractor for hooking up your PTO shaft.

Post hole augers operate at a fairly radical angle ............... less than that would be "OK"

UPDATE - after informing the dealer that I may be buying out of state, and needing him to return my deposit, he got Kioti to commit to delivering a DK5010 in 5 weeks - +$1,600 to the bottom line - fine with me. He is also $2,000 lower than the out of state dealer. Win-win!!

I have a DK4510 on order with a local dealer (with a $1500 deposit). A dealer in another state has a DK5010 (both standard tranny) IN STOCK! Should I jump ship and request my deposit back? I am guessing that would pretty well burn that bridge for any warranty work. I do my own maintenance...

Not disagreeing with you - all three dispense valuable info. Just have a little bit of an issue with the importance he sometimes places on the dealer “relationship”. I did however keep dealer professionalism in mind when making my recent purchase. (Kioti DK4510)

I have a Hawthorne “problem” - small, scrubby, Very thorny trees; shallow routed though. Thorns will penetrate leather gloves. Looking for a solution to get them to the burn pile without handling them, but not a commercial venture.

Did you hinstall a flow control to fine tune the speed - I switch implements frequently - sometimes 3-4 a day and I worried about lining up the top link holes.

Try contacting Fedex about returning the frame on their dime. Worth a shot. Probably good to make sure you will get you $$ returned from Titan though if they get the frame back.

On many brands the safety switch is on a "plug". You could possibly make a bypass to to fit the plug - leave it in the tool box, with the keys, or someplace convenient. Good luck

Workinonit - Thanks for the tip - I have a similar system that uses heavy duty waterproof plugs for the winch on my 350 Super Duty so I can set up the winch on my rear receiver. I will put a pigtail on the battery terminals with one of those plugs if it seems like access is "difficult".

Not really concerned about vulnerability - as from pics it looks like it has a shield - more from the pain in the a$$ factor of accessibility for jumping the tractor and routine maintenance/replacement.

Nice grill guard - As far as the owners manual, I don’t own the tractor yet - the battery question is part of my purchase decision making process. The service manager may be a viable alternative - but my salesman didn’t have a ready answer - he is looking into it.

DK4510 - a simpler version of the 4510se - no hydro - and the battery is underslung on the drivers side inboard of the platform step - not ideal IMHO. 4510SE is now hydro only.
