I've never heard anybody badmouth a CSV, manufacturers ect. We install pumps regularly that will produce hundreds of pounds of pressure, and need to be that way.

YKYAOW you remember gas cans with open spouts and vents. Cans that actually worked and were more environmentally freindly.

I would just remove the top and pour the gas in, maybe half would spill on the ground. The new spout designs are so stupid. I expect most people do this because they can't figure them out. Very eco friendly.

Do not install filters before your tank. Install the largest tank you can. The 26 gallon tank will give you 8 or so gallons of draw down. X-Trol tanks are not what they used to be. I see far too many go back under warrenty. Don't buy from a box store. We install hundreds of Flexcon tanks every year.

We see water coming out of the Schrader valve frequently, it usually takes the pump out with it. Ignoring a bad tank will cost you both a pump and a tank

Fuddy, I'm worried about a 5 second run time. Something is wrong, and it's real bad for the system. Pumps like to run.

Almost every component of the system has a limited number of on/off cycles. Long run times are great for well pumps. BUT, they have to be moving water. The motor manufacturer wants 1/4 of a foot per second of water flow past the motor to keep it cool.

OP, you really should check the air charge in your tank. My VFD driven well pump has been in for 18 years. It runs my domestic water, my geothermal heat pumps and irrigation.

Which line are you seeing 375 volts on? And, valveman is right, if your pump is cycling with a csv, there is something wrong with it.

We see that coincidence frequently after lightning, bad relays and caps.

Wait, something is wrong. What you have in your hand is a motor starter control box. Your pump, if a 3 wire motor won't run without it, it's not an option. I also see one in the picture for a larger motor. Circuit breaker, pressure switch, control box, motor.

Yes, the Ford lights can be turned off. I.E., you can set the four light setup to only have 2 on in low beam. It is a weird setup. Four lights, and all four are on in low beam.

You don't need the system to automatically add air if you do it periodically with an air compressor. If you add a schrader valve to the check valve before the tank, it has to have a light spring in it so it will open under a vacuum. The bleeder in the well opens when it is not under pressure...

So, 946 pounds of pressure on a single check valve?? You and I don't work in the same world. Most check valves are designed to be operated int he full open position, not partially open. VFD check valves being the exception, but who uses a VFD check valve with a Cycle stop?

Most pump manufactures build a check valve on top of the pump, but that's not a great place for it, it should be at least a foot above the pump, but that's not very practicle most of the time. One every 200'. If that's 4, then it's 4.

What leads you to believe he has a 10 gpm pump? Is it a Franklin 3200 series, or 4400 series? The check valve manufacturers, the motor manufacturers and the pump manufacturers recommend a check valve every 200', or every 100 psi (actually 231').

A 5 gpm, 1 hp pump stops pumping at about 660', so a 2 hp should do just fine depending on the series. 3 phase motor will run better, but will not reduce power consumption, might even be a little worse because of the phase conversion from single to three phase. Check valves should be installed...

The zipper method does not mean you get to fly to the end of the closed lane then expect someone to slam on their brakes to let you in. The zipper method means when they post a lane closure, you look for a hole, or make a hole (if you're in the thru lane) and start to merge.

My 674 has idiot lights that I'm not sure work. Also, I have no temp gauge. The dealer confirmed there is no temp gauge. My point is, you may not have some of the things you would expect.

Set my grapple on top of a storage container, 8' up and forgot to unhook the hydraulic lines. Fortunately I saw it before I dragged the grapple of the top. That could have been nasty. Torn the lines off, or worse have the grapple swing into the tractor if the lines held.

Leave the well head about 18" above grade and don't build the house around it. From a guy that has been servicing wells since I was 7.

The rental companies idea of a day is 8 hours. That's a half hour a stump. Maybe an experienced operator, but if you have little to no experience running an excavator, I doubt you could do it in a day.

Bought an Ironcraft 96" landscape rack. What a piece of junk. Used it for 15 minutes, 4 passes of 100 yards or so. The frame is bent, the tines are bent. It's going back to the dealer I got it from.

Bought an Ironworks 8' landscape rake.

It's a Pentek 4.5 x 20. Capacity of 1850 grains. I also run a water softener cartridge before it. I think the D.I. cartridges are over $100, so you want the water as clean as possible going into it, hence the softener cartridge first.

I use a 4" x 20" deionizing cartridge to rinse my car. Pretty cost efficient.
