Went to town yesterday, when I got back and pulled the car up about 40ft from my workshop I was assualted by extremely strong laquer smell. Found one of the wifes cousins painting a car inside with a roaring fire going in he wood stove. And just a spraying away amongst the haze with a paint...
A friend of mine got a BadBoy last year loves it, he parked his Kubota 4wd front deck mower.
He mows about 5 acres with it. He got the one with I think a 26hp gas engine on it.
I have a little ultralight weed eater brand weedeater. I have had it for 8 yrs or so. It had been sitting in a shed with gas (with stabil) in it since last fall.
got it out 2 days ago and it started on second pull and ran like a champ.

The BB looks more repairable than most for those that do their own repairs. Looks like they used many off the shelf items in construction like pillow block bearings for deck support and such. Not that it looks easy to wear out or break :)
It really impresses me and makes the rest of the ZTR's...
Well pretty much in between , in the shopping zone.
Yes technically Christiansburg I guess.
Same shopping center as Office Max and Books a million.
Was there yesterday.
The TSC in Blacksburg, VA has one and the one in Winchester, KY as well, not sure about any others. Only 2 I have visited.
I like that machine, built like a Dozer, 2 gas tanks, etc....
Anyone else seen the Bad Boy ZTR at TSC ? It looks like one heavy duty sucker. Everything is massive compared to the other ZTR's there.
The metal in the front pivot wheel brackets is 2X as heavy as on the others for instance. Uses heavy pillow blocks (easy to replace as well) instead of cheap...

My firends IH 444 has a weak hydraulic pump, the local shops wont touch rebuilding it. Does anyone know of a place that will rebuild a Thompson hydraulic pump ? Also I have a cessna spare (weak) aux hyd pump for my 2444 that runs the loader and would be interested in getting it rebuilt.
any...
Has anyone else read about this? A B52 will burn a 50/50 mix of conventional fuel and fuel made from coal in 2 engines on a B52. For the syn nuts the "coal oil" is considered synthetic from what I read ;)

I have noticed that all 93 octane gas is not the same. I can fill up my subie with 93 at one brand station and it rattles, 93 at another station and it really zooms.....
For the experts... my tractor manual says use 93 octane (Research method), how does that equate to the ROZ/RON method now used ?
Would this work ?
I have about a 5,000 gal underground cistern. Would circulating it thru a radiator with a fan behind it work for cooling ? and how many BTU's of cooling would be stored in there before the water all got hot. Remember it is under ground so some re-cooling of the water would...

One thing of note. this article says that producing 1 million BTU's of ethanol is more efficient than producing 1 million BTU's worth of gas ?
Flying Cow Leaves Two Police Cars in Flames
Talk about a wild night near Seguin. A cow came flying out of its trailer, sent DPS and police scrambling, and left two police cars going up in flames.
"It was almost hard to believe," said Detective Sergeant Maureen Watson. She has been in law...
I just read that in the Lexington paper this morning. Not something to be real proud of though. It looks like a helmet law for those under 16 is in the works. On public and private land.

Kerosene is around 4.50 per gal here now. I really feel for those using heating oil this winter. A friend that runs a gas and go said he had to pay 3.79/gal from his distributor, but the distributor was out!

Just got this question on my mind.
How much crude oil does it take to make one qt. or conventional motor oil ? How much to make one quart of synthetic oil ?

I have a Poulan Pro power head with tree trimming head and string trimmer head, bothe work well. My wife wants a small tiller, does anyone have any experience with these trimmer power head tillers ? Any good ? Easy to handle ?, etc.
Also will the Troy Built heads work on the Poulan Pro power...
I saw a nice new JD 4WD tractor the other day with front fenders. I kinda wondered how long it would be before they started appearing on 4WD tractors.

Soundguy or anyone else out there. Is there any reason that I cannot use some BIG diodes/heatshink/fan to make an AC to DC welding converter ?
Going to use a bridge configuration. Getting ready to order the diodes and some twistlock connectors, have the rest of the stuff.

Just today they arrived and there must be 500 or more of those darned little bugs on my house, not too many inside yet though. Would spraying the outside of my house with Sevin or something help ? Any ideas ?

Been thinking lately...and yes I know that is dangerous, but anyway I personally know of 3 deaths and maybe 8 maimings related to tractors and their implements. There is a lot of talk about lawsuits and grey market tractors, ROPS, etc... this is sort of a survey to try and get a feel of how...
Just one of the things I have always wondered about. Why don't tractors have front brakes ? Especially on the 4WD ones. They could even be selectable, on or off. It seems like it sure would be handy on the downslopes with a heavy load behind you.
Just wondering and don't recall this...
I have been following the Plasma TV thread and thinking on this for a while, so here goes.
Do you think that the new HIGHER cost TV's will bring back TV repair as a viable profession ? Or are they still just throw away units ?

While shopping At Sams Club a couple of weeks ago I came accross batteries that looked like Optima batteries, but were black and had another brand name on them ... sorry can't remember the brand name.
Are these batteries made by Optima ? or a copycat ? In either case does anyone know if they...
I just removed a fireplace insert from a fireplace in my house. Going to put in some gas logs.
What is the best way to clean up the crud inside the fireplace. It is brick lined. What product or procedure works for you ?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
I am thinking going to be replacing the hoses on my commercial grade IH loader soon due to their getting hard from age ( over 20 yrs) ans the swivel fittings dripping.
Are any of the import hose assemblies any good ? If so where did you get them ?
Thanks for any input, just not sure if it...
Has anyone seen studies on the powered attic vents. Do they really save on AC costs over adequate natural flow type of attic ventilation. Or do they just cost more to buy/replace, and electric consumption. Also they are noisy. I prefer the low cost natural quiet way but if the powered ones...
My Tractor Supply store has 6 gallon buckets of their Premium Hydraulic fluid for the same price as 5 gallons. $25 + change.
Just thought some of you might want to know.
Since we have been discussing antifreeze in depth on this board....
Does anyone have any input on the new "safe" non-toxic antifreeze. I believe one brand is Sierra or something like that.
