    Ford paint color

Good to know. My 1210 is a 1983. I would readily go to a Ford/ NH dealer, but they are pretty scarce in this area. Recent decades have seen a move toward green and orange stuff.

    Ford paint color

David-- Do you have your 1210 from WV yet? I still haven't purchased a can of paint for the wheels, but further googling shows a Ford light gray that might be correct. I agree that the color is white-ish, but I would prefer to get the right color the first time instead of too much traveling...

    Ford paint color

I have a 1210 in need of paint on the wheels. For such a small project I only need a rattle can, not a quart or more. Tractor Supply's Majik paint shows a Ford light gray, but it seems much darker than the 1210's wheel and fender color. I have seen mention of Ford white, but it is not as...

    Fence corner anchors

About 30 yrs ago I installed some Gallagher high tensile electric fence, only to discover that the deer weren't deterred. In the supplies which came with the fence were a type of lag bolt used to drive into a tree trunk in order to attach a wire to guy a post. I don't know what they were...

Single acting valve does not work correctly

I can't dispute your thoughts, but the mystery is in the tractor's history. It was new in 1986 and used as an estate mower--no FEL. I bought it in 1992, and installed the loader. The valve is a two spool, open center, four way valve. With the manifold set as pictured, the loader and tph...

Single acting valve does not work correctly

I posted my problem on Build it Yourself, but was unable to elicit a solution. To operate the snowplow setup on my little Ford 1210, I have a single-acting Prince valve attached with quick couplers to the hydraulic manifold--see pics. In the setup as pictured the valve allows the plow cylinder...

    Snowplow hydraulics

I had a setup like Boylerman's , but a smaller plow many yrs ago. Just to clarify--my challenge now isn't to rig up a plow system, it is to solve my hydraulic problem. Since the one-way valve works properly with the links all the way down, logic suggests the problem is with the left-right...

    Snowplow hydraulics

Loader valve is attached to the loader, and I can't have both the loader and plow on the tractor at same time

    Snowplow hydraulics

It has been a while, but thanks for all the feedback. This issue hasn't been urgent because we have no snow! Main reason for not using my FEL is no desire to fab a set-up, and plow for my skidsteer is just too heavy for this little tractor. Anyway, I needed to move snow in preparation for a...

    Snowplow hydraulics

Update.2 Here are pics of valve and plumbing. The connector shown in #2 was previously a quick coupler, but it wasn't defective. As shown everything works, but cylinder still collapses slower than it should. Shut off engine, and it collapses quickly.

    Snowplow hydraulics

Would love to send pics, but my computer died and I don't know how to download shots from my ipad to my wife's laptop. Fortunately, there is no snow in the forecast, so will have to wait til computer is repaired to continue this discussion.

    Snowplow hydraulics

Update--We have had two storms which required plowing. The hydraulics worked OK, but slow enough to indicate something just isn't right. Unrelated to this issue I plumbed a coupler into the work hose so I could completely separate the valve from the plow. Now there is pressure to the work port...

    Bleeding Ford 1210

Update--I cracked the bleeder screw until all the air bubbles stopped. Started it up, but it wasn't happy. After a while it straightened out and now runs as it is supposed to. Am pretty sure I should have bled the injectors as suggested by the pump guy. Thanks for the help.

    Bleeding Ford 1210

I changed the filter in the sediment bowl, and it wouldn't start. Cleaned the old filter and it started right up--go figure. Had to fiddle with the shut-off valve on the sediment bowl, it started instantly, then died. Now it won't start, but it wants to--it is definitely getting fuel from the...
