The snowmobile suit was a deciding factor in buying a cab. Freeze to death on the road, sweat being active clearing snow from turning and moving pedals and levers. Much nicer wearing t shirt and listening to radio.

Arena use low hours should be fine, assuming decent operators and not random "help" every time it was used.

Given it's a "demo" they should let you try it out at home anyways. If it picks the bale up you are good, if not, it goes back.
Yeah. I spend a bunch time dressing for the cold. Go out and freeze my hands and face off while the rest of me is sweating under the parka. I am looking forward to a cab. Nice for the cold, when it rains, and when it's the opposite and extremely hot out. And if I make bales again I won't have the hay dust flying in my face.

The dealer is pretty good. The downside is it's at one of their branches that is 3 hours away. So bringing it to a nearby dealer is not as easy or cheap. They thought about it but I'd have to commit more first. The local branch has a 5060e, but no loader unfortunately. And a branch in between the two had one but it is out on rent apparently, which is odd. I guess I won't look at that one now.

Yeah. Exactly. There'll be some -40 days here. Trying to do anything without a cab takes the jou out of it. And whereing a snowmobile suit and helmet doesn't solve that problem.

The 2023 Deere was apparently used at an ag event center mainly to drag the arena. The dealer provides them a tractor to use and they replace it every two years. So little use and down the road from the dealer for servicing. It was lightly used.

I checked it out. Nice tractor. Just not as nice as the Kubota the premium cab would help align the two but it has a basic cab. But it beats open station.

I wasn't able to test the loader with a bale though. They didn't have it setup for that to try unfortunately. So right now I'm relying on specs, which is the same in doing for the Kubota with the M32 loader.

THe Kubota dealer has shared knowledge that supports that it should lift these bales there's a farmer that has one after upgrading from the 1154 loader that wouldn't lift what he needed but the M32 has no issue. And the Deere loader is rated similar to the M32 so in theory it should work.
I really think that 520m loader will not have any issues with a 5x6 bale , It’s substantially heavier duty than what you’ve got. Loader and standard bucket weight is listed at 906kg or about 2000lbs, very stout for size . The tractor also is built heavier especially the front axle with planetary out drives , in my opinion much better for the long haul when lots of heavy loader use is required. Also notice how the JD loaders make use of gussets and reinforcement plates at high stress points, cast pivots at back end of loader arms 💪. For a farm tractor loader in that size pretty hard to beat.

Don't think that's odd at all. Around here anyway, my understanding is that most of the farms rent (lease) their big tractors and machinery, then after so many hours they turn them back in. I see ads offering tractors that "just came in off lease" and sell for much cheaper than new prices.

Nice tractor.
The loader does seem well built and specs are higher than the basic one from Kubota. The m series is about the same and it's an alo/quicke loader so it's built stronger as well.

I've been wondering about the axle differences between the straight axle on the Deere and bevel on the Kubota. Thanks for your feedback. I think the main drawback is lost ground clearance on the Deere.

True. If it's sitting on the lot and there's a chance to make money of it, why not. I figured they would like to keep the hours down while trying to sell it.

Does anyone know what the actual reach is of the 520m loader vs the Kubota. The Deere and Kubota specs are similar at the ground level but the Kubota is almost 2' further reach than the Deere at full height. I find that hard to believe as they are similar in overall dimensions and reach at ground. I'm wondering if Kubota measures differently than Deere

I want to verify how far it will reach to unload a bale off the second row off a trailer.
And yes, I understand the risk with the high and heavy load :).

Are you able to measure the loader. I need to know what the measurement is when the loader is at full height. I need the reach from the front of the tractor to the bottom pivot pin by the bucket.

Here you are. Yeah on the reach specs they can be measured off tractors at different points. One that is pretty standard I think is reach at ground level, generally measured from center of axle to front of cutting edge, bucket flat on ground.

Ok great. That's helpful and more along what I expected.
Now if only I had measured mine before I delivered I today 🤦‍♂️.
I can go measure one at the dealer. Both have the same loader which is the la1154 which is different than the M32 but still a good reference. So I'll see if the dealer can find one on another lot they can have measured that has the right loader.
