Runs ok , occasionally starts spurtering, runs rough for 15-20 secs And corrects itself. Then it’s ok for many hours. Sounds electrical but where do I start?.

Typically, electrical issues show up when things get hot, and they would not get better while on the go. I would suspect bad fuel, perhaps, water in the fuel tank or in the carb float bowl.
I would recommend draining the fuel tank and make sure that there is no water at the bottom of it. Also loosen the float bowl bolt and let some fuel out of it.

when it is sputtering try choking it some to see if runs. If yes then most likely fuel related. I had one where the float valve would occasionally stick causing similar symptoms.
