82F @ 10:30 and supposedly "Mostly Cloudy" ... but I see the Sun streaming in the window ... ;)

We are under a "Heat Advisory" through tomorrow ... HI 88F, DP 71F, HU 72%, AQI 46 currently ... heading up to an actual high around 87F today, calling for tomorrow to be around 10F hotter, depending on who ya ask ...

Planted all the beet seeds that had been soaking in thirteen 5"+ holes in the weed block fabric yesterday. Ground under fabric still pretty moist:

Seeds were from last year but some of them had started to sprout. Put around a dozen or so seeds in each hole. Will thin them down for greens, leaving a a couple per hole to develop. Woman is the beet eater, me not so much.

Woman watered and fed most everything else while I was doing that ... even though She swore She wasn't coming out (too hot) ...

I got the area over the leach field mowed after I finished planting.

Got tomato cages unpacked and moved around back.

Refilled hopper and both tube feeders + scattered some cracked corn for the ground feeders.

Weeded then moved the 19 most recent bare-root strawberries I had planted in pots around back to the shelves from the front:

Was pretty hot and I was soaked most of the time I was outside but there was a pretty good breeze so it was tolerable. High temp hit 88.7F.

Around 18:30 got a Severe Weather Alert for storms and strong winds so I knocked off and came inside.

We did get some rain (0.02") yesterday but most it tracked north up around CLE and the lakeshore counties. Got another 0.07" after midnight.

Currently have around 54% cloud cover so will probably work on marking out holes in rows on the weed block on west side of garden for strawberries and other plants, maybe get those melted ... if it's not too windy.

Atmosphere is very unstable, so good possibility of storms developing.

Still need to get maintenance done on Cub.

Also refill Water Buffalo.

Get meds doled out for another week.

Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday ... (y)

Good morning, 76 going to 93 Excessive heat warning in effect

Stacked some more wood yesterday and did some trimming work.

Today will do some early outside work to avoid heat.

wngsprd, on my Kubota ZT I take off the plate with two screws that hold the two fuel filters and take the assembly to the work bench to change the fuel filters. Much easier and use clip offs to not have any spils from fuel hoses
Wish mine was like that. Instead, each is bolted to a different part of the frame.

Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 8:00AM. Sunny. High 96F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Yep, back in NorCal.

RAM is up to their ears in pickup trucks right now, Drew, and is wheeling and dealing as a result. FWIW, here is a link to the search tool I used:
I ended up getting one of their memberships, and believe I got my money's worth of advise.

Good to catch a post from you, Ted, and see the fine job you and your wife have done on the yard. Might be headed that way myself if we can get through escrow on the new place. It has a fair amount of lawn, and water in Orcutt is expensive! Oh yeah, the house is really in Orcutt, an unincorporated area that borders Santa Maria on the south. I'd rather deal with Santa Barbara County than Santa Maria City any day of the week.

For battery charging, Chris, I picked up an inexpensive stainless steel table on Amazon and parked it under the front patio cover, which is stucco. The charger goes on the table, and the batteries charge while I'm in the garage or outside where I can keep an eye on things. So far, so good, even with the knock off Makita batteries.

Smooth drive up from the south yesterday, again averaging 44 MPG. Not bad for a non-hybrid gas engine, but I did drive at the speed limit and used the cruise control most of the way. Maintenance warning popped up half way home. Didn't dig into what it was, but the odo was reading 5000 miles. Time for an oil and filter change by my reconning, but I don't think Toyota recommends it until 10,000. Those miles sure went fast!

Came home to find the inside of the house at 88F, so the A/C took a loooooong time to get it cool. Still working more than usual. Took another pass at getting the loan people to come up with an accurate loan application, and had a new package to e-sign at the end of the day. So that's on the agenda for this morning, before I go out and hopefully do the last of the weed spraying. Maybe do a little more hose stringing on the house if there's time, but I need a grocery run, too.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Was on chat with Verizon this morning. Got my old iPhone now set as wife’s phone, then did only contacts and message transfer and that worked. I had to find the box the iPhone 11 came in 4 yrs ago to give them the imei. Kind of unbelievably they dropped all that info since Tuesday when I switched phones. Am now manually transferring pics. If you transfer using file folder, it redates them with todays date, which I don’t want. So going via google drive. I found way to do bulk transfer in to iPhone and it keeps the original date.

69°F and .55 inches rain.

Piddle around a bit this morning before heading for town. Sophie has a dental appointment. I’ll likely visit Home Depot.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

94++, weather station in sun says 104
going to be this hot again tomorrow.

good visit to surgeon's office, just prelim stuff, told me insurance would not pay for back operation unless I had
PT within last six months. It's been a year...so back I go for more PT, and will schedule another MRI.

was going to go out and pick tomatoes but just too hot out. Will do that when sun goes down.
I took a bag of tomatoes to my lawyer this afternoon when i picked up my new will, and told him that's
all I could pay him...he just laughed, we've been friends a long time. And said his garden was terrible and these tomatoes
would be perfect. I doubt I'll get a credit on the bill.... ;)
