82F @ 10:30 and supposedly "Mostly Cloudy" ... but I see the Sun streaming in the window ...
We are under a "Heat Advisory" through tomorrow ... HI 88F, DP 71F, HU 72%, AQI 46 currently ... heading up to an actual high around 87F today, calling for tomorrow to be around 10F hotter, depending on who ya ask ...
Planted all the beet seeds that had been soaking in thirteen 5"+ holes in the weed block fabric yesterday. Ground under fabric still pretty moist:
Seeds were from last year but some of them had started to sprout. Put around a dozen or so seeds in each hole. Will thin them down for greens, leaving a a couple per hole to develop. Woman is the beet eater, me not so much.
Woman watered and fed most everything else while I was doing that ... even though She swore She wasn't coming out (too hot) ...
I got the area over the leach field mowed after I finished planting.
Got tomato cages unpacked and moved around back.
Refilled hopper and both tube feeders + scattered some cracked corn for the ground feeders.
Weeded then moved the 19 most recent bare-root strawberries I had planted in pots around back to the shelves from the front:
Was pretty hot and I was soaked most of the time I was outside but there was a pretty good breeze so it was tolerable. High temp hit 88.7F.
Around 18:30 got a Severe Weather Alert for storms and strong winds so I knocked off and came inside.
We did get some rain (0.02") yesterday but most it tracked north up around CLE and the lakeshore counties. Got another 0.07" after midnight.
Currently have around 54% cloud cover so will probably work on marking out holes in rows on the weed block on west side of garden for strawberries and other plants, maybe get those melted ... if it's not too windy.
Atmosphere is very unstable, so good possibility of storms developing.
Still need to get maintenance done on Cub.
Also refill Water Buffalo.
Get meds doled out for another week.
Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday ...
