I just learned that we can't mine (because of regulatory policy) a particular mineral that is required to produce diesel, and the only place it is mined is - - - -

Not diesel fuel. It used in oils used in diesel vehicles. Im sure its just another scam to raise prices. Like theres no other alternitive?

I have heard meth heads do a good job of mining the US supply of it anyways.

Sounds like regulatories needs to get their chit together. Diesel is a by product of making gasoline and is the cheapest to produce.
