29 and ice in the bird baths. Had to bring the hummingbird feeders in last night so they wouldn't freeze. Going to 64.

Roy, worst I've done is drive off without unhooking the pto shaft...fortunately they make them for dummies...it just pulled apart, so I went ahead and greased the inside and put it back together. Sorry for your problem.

Looking at that gravel I am reminded I need to go buy some weedkiller to do the whole driveway, and the front flagstone walkway before I either use mortar or
that special sand to fill in the cracks.
I wonder what a jug of Roundup costs now at the local Tru Value?
one arm and two legs

I suppose I could make up a vinegar solution. Pretty sure Roundup or generic works better.

One of the members of my church is playing the part of Edward Hicks this Saturday and I'm going to go and be supportive, and hopefully find a spot in historic Langhorne to get lunch.

From yesterday morning, didn't get posted:

Was 34F with light snow @ 09:45, headed up to a high of around 44F. Warmer weather is on the way though ... but to be followed by another below normal cool down apparently ... :(

Up way too early this morning (3AM) ... nap later is a very good possibility (it happened)

Woman reports that five deer just came strolling though over on the west side ... "probably on their way to go eat that hosta we planted ..."

She also commented on the flowers out the bedroom window (most everything is up and going to town now) ... wanted to know where "the map" for it was ... (there is one ... somewhere)

Four tomato and three cucumber plants now up ...

Got another six asparagus plants potted after dinner, plus another tray of coleus planted along with planting more catnip seeds in an existing tray.

Hopper and deer feeders refilled, also two suet feeders.

Woman ran out in the afternoon to Penneys with a relative and picked up some clothes she had ordered. They stopped for some Mexican food on the way back.

Amazon delivered a dozen larger drip pans for under potted plants.

I spent some time on the phone with vet in the afternoon, going over Mister's condition. Next step would be an x-ray to try and determine what exactly is going on.

Onto this morning:

28F and clear @ 06:45, headed up to maybe 58F for the high with a mix of sun and clouds. Oddly enough, I'm not seeing any frost out there on the lawn. Rain headed in late tonight.

Ducks noodling around out in the frog pond.

Now up to eight tomato plants up, still at three cucumbers though ... some sun today should get things popping though.

Will take the Cub and dump cart up once it warms up later and grab some screened compost to make up more potting soil. Should be able to get the rest of the dahlias and the asparagus done today.

Also take The Woman's hibiscus outside and get those sprayed with the neem oil solution.

Running low on suet, safflower, and sunflower seeds ... so started a new Menards order for those.

We're supposed to take Mister in @ 09:00 this morning for that x-ray. He still seems to be hanging in there ... came into the bedroom last night and somehow managed to get up on the bed and laid down next to me and started purring ...

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Hump Day ... (y)

No real idea Drew ... but last week I picked up 2 1/2 gallons of 41% glyphosate at Menards for around $90.

If I were to guess you might be looking at at least half that for a gallon.

I suppose I could make up a vinegar solution. Pretty sure Roundup or generic works better.
You could look at something like Pramitol or maybe the extended version of Roundup if you don't want to be spraying it repeatedly.

Just make sure you don't get it within the drip line of anything you want to live.

Daffodils looking good ... (y)

Enjoy those purrs RS, they are special.

too cold to go plant flowers, waiting until noon.
So off to hardware store and supermarket.

Volvo has been averaging 23 mpg around town, short trips.
Maybe in three years when the warranty runs out I'll get the hybrid/plug in model. 40 miles would be fine for me.
This current turbo and supercharged four cylinder sounds pretty agricultural. In fact it sounded really familiar, having owned several
Subaru boxer fours. It has the four cylinder thud that's very low, not sure if the turbo or the supercharger kicks on first. Very complicated small engine
pumped up to 316 hp. And it sounds like a Subaru. But quieter. And finally my head doesn't bang on the door frame getting in. Rustles my hair but misses my head.
Not much hair so it all works...

because they were only planted last year my daffodils came in late. I will plant more, but this time will supplement the yellow with other varieties.
I have those two big stumps out front that need flowers on them, but they just put up another frost warning and I've frozen stuff outside already.
So I will wait another week.
I can't image all the flowers coming up or about to come up at RS's home
Pretty sure you are going to need to man up your fencing game. Those deer will eat whatever they can reach. And you sure have plenty of deer.
Um, the deer you are feeding all the time. And you think if you put feed over there they won't come over here to your juicy hosta.
better get some fencing.

For gravel and areas where I never want to see anything grow, I've had good luck with RM43 and Preen. Both are pre-emergent herbicides, but RM43 also includes glyphosate to kill anything already growing in the sprayed areas. So I use Preen with a hand crank broadcast applicator for new gravel, and RM43 for new areas and to touch up the few weeds that grow where I've applied a pre-emergent previously.

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 4:30AM. Partly cloudy skies this morning will give way to cloudy skies and rain during the afternoon. High near 65F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

In the "didn't even know this thing existed, and now I can't live without one" department, I ordered a pneumatic chamfering tool yesterday to take the burrs off parts after they've been cut to shape. Amazon had plenty of them to choose from, most looking like clones of the others. Picked one available through Prime so I can send it back easily if it turns out to be a piece of junk.

Also found a little more info online about how the neutral position switch works on a Subaru transmission, and found I'd wired my mocked up NPS backwards. And in the process of correcting that, found that the ground lead had never been hooked up. No wonder the Check Engine Light kept coming on with the transmission in gear and going down hill. The computer thought it was in neutral, and when it couldn't control engine RPM with the Idle Air Control Valve, it threw a fit.

But in the process of fixing that, I disconnected and cleaned the engine grounds, and probably missed reattaching one. Now the engine won't start, and I can't even get the code reader to talk to the computer. I'm blaming bad eyes and poor light, so that's job one for this morning.

I also reviewed the alarm documentation, and it seems I interrupted the starter relay wire and not the ignition coil power wire to disable the vehicle when the alarm is armed. Since the engine still cranks but won't start, that pretty much rules out the alarm system as a possible cause. Maybe cleaning the grounds will help with the no start condition, but I'm not optimistic because I didn't find much corrosion when I had everything apart.

When I picked up the mail yesterday, I found a business card from a deputy sheriff taped to the box, with a not asking me to call him. I did, but since it was after 6PM there was no answer, so I left a voice mail with my phone number. Kind of odd, as they have all my information already from when I registered the home's alarm system, so why didn't he just call to begin with?

Hump day already! Another week speeding by...

Don glad equipment is setup, Have fun trailblazing. When you plant based people in majority, what population are you talking about?
The population of 6 at the dinner party of course, with 66 2/3% plant based. (And the other plant based couple was not from the plant based group in the neighborhood.)

Good morning! A cloudy 68˚F heading to the upper 80s cloudy with the warm Gulf Southerly breeze.

Morning Plant based meeting with our projector/computer and more trail clearing in the afternoon. The area the trail goes through is a creek bottom land that is a grove of cedars. A rough cut was made 2 years ago no we are trimming the trees and hauling the brush to where the mulcher can reach it. Yesterday was an easy day for me, my job was to cut off all the "pokies" (small branches from the trunk of the cedars), and previous pokies that were not cutback far enough like the one my saw-zall is hanging on. I did finished several hundred trees - about 2/10 mile.

Morning all, 39 (again) and the sun is up.

Preparing the thumb for install. Got the 1/4" shim and did primer and paint last night.
The Harbor Freight grinder with cutoff wheel worked well as expected. The paddle switch is really a great feature over the toggle.
Had to keep moving it into the garage as we kept getting sudden rain squalls. Though the weather people keep saying I imagined that.

Will fit up again today and see if I need to trim the thumb itself to make sure the top does not hit the cylinder.

Roy - sounds like something I would do. I remember leaving the oil cap off the car once. Noticed when oil started hitting the windshield!

Like RNG I use RM43 around my brickwork and that seems to last a while if I apply on a dry day.

Don - sawzall still life :)

Stay safe and be well,
