The Kubota L47 is a TLB.
The MX5400 (with loader, and backhoe- as an attachment) would appear to cost almost 20K LESS that the L47 TLB.
The two machines are really not in the same league.

Ah, well, as Emily Latella used to say "never mind".

So I just bought a 3901 today and was comparing it to a 4701. My dealer also said if you are considering the 4701, get the MX 5400 for $3K more as he felt it was much more machine. We just bought 20 acres and will be mowing/brush hogging about 12 with some good grade to the topography however he felt the 3901 was going to be plenty for what we want.

The Kubota TLBs are geared a little slower then the tractor cousins but it’s not really a problem. I hate bush hogging with a loader on and the TLB loaders aren’t removable so that would be a bigger concern for me. But as far as getting the job done there’s no reason a L47 can’t bushhog the field. I loaded these bundles with my M59 and they’re 3700 pounds each. A MX couldn’t come close. I’m pretty sure the M59 is the only one that has a swivel seat like the full size hoes so if you’re doing much backhoe work that would be a big advantage.

The L47 doesn't have a swivel seat?

B26, L47, and M62 all have swivel seats.

I don’t think you can sit in the seat and twist around like you can a full size hoe. The M59 and 62 will but I think they’re the only ones.

The L48 does have a swivel seat, but I can't sit in it while swiveling.
Well.......I guess I could, but it would not be comfortable to do so.
I stand, and turn the seat.

I can swivel on my L-47 TLB also, but my legs make it tight so I stand and spin the seat.
