A lot has changed since DOS :)

Yes and no! You do realize you can still access a command prompt at which point you are in DOS. Furthermore almost every downloaded file or CD or USB file bypasses windows to install using DOS. So yes while we have all accepted Windows as how we access things on our computer as have program developers, DOS is still functioning to run that computer, it is just hidden unless you go looking for it!
Sorta like the computer in your vehicle, it hides lots of things from you unless you go looking for information.

There is no "DOS" in Windows 7, and there hasn't been since Windows ME.

All NT-based versions of Windows have "command processor" that many folks insist on calling the "DOS window" but it really isn't that. On a Windows 7 machine, you open a Command Prompt window by simple typing cmd.exe (or Command Prompt) in the Start > Search box and pressing Enter.
