Annoying droning when mowing with ZD1211

I致e got a zd1211 that I love, except for a droning when the blades are engaged that is hard on the ears. It goes away when the blades are turned off. Is there a way to get rid of this? Maybe change to a different blade? I致e got a mulching kit on it, but the drone was there without the kit. I don稚 think the dealer changed the blades with the kit, if that matters. I want to love this mower but the drone is crazy annoying.

Headphones or ear plugs will fix it. Add a music player/cell phone with music and you can come to like the unheard drone. Same with cutting pollen that floats around and you inhale and have coughing fits, get previous to Covid cheap masks. I have hundreds of them since inhaling unseen "stuff" has started bothering me and causes coughing fits. Also a hat can help ones head if one doesn't get the sunshade.

Don't have a Kubota mower but had that issue on my Ferris when first bought. Turned out to be the blade belt on mine. The splice on the belt was the issue. Mine was not steady, it to me went zoom, then normal, then zoom as the splice was running over certain pulleys. I bought the highest rated ear muffs due to that belt. It was proven to be the belt when replaced it. Could be a pulley also.

I do wear good headphones and it doesn稚 help. It痴 almost a physical feeling, so I like the idea of trying different belts and blades. The funny thing is that the drone comes and goes while mowing. Mostly you hear it and then it値l stop for a few seconds.

It痴 only got about 100 hours on it. I致e heard about the gator blades. How difficult is it to change blades on the 1211?

Have you checked for a loose mower blade? A rock or stick may have loosened one.

You've never mentioned whether your ZD1211 deck is 60" or 72" .... side or rear discharge? Unless I just missed it?
