Me, too, it's just not the same and there are friends that cut their land line, and I choose not to bother communicating with them by cell phone. If they were home and picked up the phone, and we could have a real high quality conversation, fine. If not, fine.

Can you get off the internet long enough to talk to people? Seems as though you’re always on here, lol.

This is where online reviews are replacing consumer reports.

The reality is people ALL over the country and communicate with each other instantaneously now. The key question then becomes exactly how to do you know the information you're getting is accurate? That said, the same could be said for magazines in the past where people went for information.

In an emergency situation where medical attention is needed to come to you, I'd much rather call from a landline than a cell phone.

Knowing people in todays society, I can imagine half of them if calling from their cell phone would call 911, tell them they need medical help, then hang up without giving the call center their address because everyone knows a smart phone has GPS which tells the call center where you're located at.:laughing:

Good point about telling the 911 operator, where you are.
I've seen a number of times where they don't even call 911, they text somebody they know, girl/boy friend, parent etc.
