good morning all from Wilmington NC, 59 going up to 74 in a cooler day with showers this afternoon.
Good thing I got my tour boat ride in yesterday, took some fun pics, can't upload until I get home, several of the battleship North Carolina which is quite a massive ship. They are about to start drydock construction in order to do major hull replating. They are also going to build a walking path all the way around the ship when the work is all done.

off to the Cape Fear Museum this morning with more visiting with friends. Can't help but wonder how my veggie garden is doing, since the electric fence is not yet put up.

Topps, I've been in Terry's shop (IIRC the name) in Houston. My buddies all had jet boats. I was smart enough to "let them have all the fun" while I just rode around or water skied.... :)

Reminds me of a great old movie, The Great Outdoors with John Candy and his jetboat "Suck my Wake"
The Great Outdoors (2/1) Movie CLIP - Suck My Wake (1988) HD - YouTube

Currently there is only one last jetboat in my freinds inventory. A supercharged 460 Ford Eliminator from Riverside Ca. It will go an honest 80mph on GPS with 93 octane pump gas. It is in need of some berkeley pump work right now.

One time, while my buddy was doing some tuning on another jet boat engine, we were trolling along and just for grins I through out a lure and trolled while he fiddled with the timing and such. Hooked a 5 lb bass and reeled it in. We forever called that engine the "Deep Cycle Troll Motor".

While enjoying barley pops one evening, we tossed around an idea to make a TV show and decided to call it "This Old Jet Boat"....

Time to head to work. The Altima is working fine so far, so good.

Lenny, you and your wifey have a beautiful home.

Dabs, thanks for you and your son's service.

Hawkeye, you won't regret going to PEX, if the installation doesn't make you talk like a sailor too much.

Looking4new, I don't know how I would handle all the freeze/thaw cycles youz guyz endure.

Moss, you got it. Thank the Lord one day at a time, everyday.

God Bless all of you.

Don, I might look up that recipe.

- I usually have a tennis racket handy around my equipment sheds this time of year for the bees. Now if someone saw me from a distance running around with a tennis racket, swinging at a wild pace, well...LOL....

RipTides - I do EXACTLY the same - LOL... I have so many wasps and carpenter bees around my deck... I hate the carpenter bees challenging me on my own deck...

Be well,
David

Don, I might look up that recipe.

Here you go. Instead of blackberries and peaches I just used 4 cups of dewberries.
Instead of Allspice I used Cinnamon. For non-dairy milk I just put almonds and water in the blender.

"Traditional cobblers rely on refined sugar, butter, and cow's milk, but these ingredients aren't missed at all in this dish, in favor of dates, non-dairy milk and banana."

The new ISP will sell me 100 gigs for $165.oo/mth with overages costing $5.oo/gig.

That sounds like a satellite plan. FWIW, my local independent satellite installer found a 100gb/mo deal with Hughesnet (50gb/mo anytime, 50gb/mo 2AM - 8AM), and with taxes it's about $92.00/mo. So far I'm not even getting close to either limit, but I'm slowly ramping up streaming content and will eventually get there

Ever try one of these? Very satisfying SNAP when you connect, and if it doesn't kill the wasp/hornet/bee outright, it'll stun 'em good enough you can step on 'em or squish 'em with the rim of the racket.

Poured first cup of coffee. 66° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 92° with partly sunny skies. Going to be a little warm today. Take wife shopping and put a few things away for trip home.
Good Morning All.

49°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 79° today.

Back is feeling considerably better today. Had a good night's sleep last night, and that's always rejuvenative.

PJ When your subscription to the Siriusly Sinatra channel was about to die, did Frank sing "And now the end it near ..." ? :)

I made the change from my laptop in the house just before going to bed, so I didn't get to experience that. Would have been pretty cool, though, huh?

PJ, I have the Sinatra channel programmed on one my presets, too. Along with Bluegrass Junction, Willie's Roadhouse and The Joint...how is that for a mix?

I have a pretty eclectic mix as well; classical to rock to jazz to acoustic pop. I mostly listen to Symphony Hall (classical) or Watercolors (contemporary jazz), and occasionally flip through a bunch of the classic rock & metal channels. Honestly, if they had one channel devoted to Baroque-era music and one devoted to progressive rock, I could probably live with just two channels.

Good Morning! 50F @ 6:00AM Showers and scattered thunderstorms. High near 50F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

Got a switch pod mounted in the lower portion of the dash on Tuesday and spent most of yesterday trying to figure out how to wire it. A big chunk of that was taken up scratching my head over what the wires already there do, as more than a few seem to go to things that aren't there anymore, or sport cut or chewed ends that don't go anywhere at all. :confused2: Then there is the lead that powers the rear window defroster grid, which runs overhead in a channel just under the roof. It seems to disappear at the driver's side A pillar next to the window, and looks like it may have connected to one of the cut wires. Perhaps today that too big cable camera I ended up with can be persuaded into the hole to help me figure out what's going on in there?

Hope your back settles down for you PJ, and you have an uneventful drive home, Drew.

Friday's comin'...
