BX OEM QA/Forks vs. Tach n Go and Jery's Forks???

Dragoneggs, we've been down this road before, remember? I have been pushing Jery's stuff for years. Had his QA on my last B2620, and now on my BX2670. You and I have swapped typing.
GO WITH JERY'S!!!!!! The Kubota forks weigh 80# A PIECE! I have lifted close to 900# with my BX, and have had no issues. If you look up my past posts, you'll find more info and pics than you need..

I know, I know, robertm... I finally pulled the trigger. Money sent for the QA and moveable forks. I went back and reread your posts and also had a couple of very nice conversations with Jery. I really wrestled with different combinations, manufacturers, etc. before finally deciding. Took me awhile, eh? :drink:

Holy smokes 900lbs,? My Bx25 specs say 745 lbs. in the FEL, but I have never gotten that. Do you know how far forward the pins are moved with Jery's system? That would change the "at the pivot pins" capacity.

BTW, does your BX2670 have a higher OEM FEL lift capacity than my (2009) BX25?

I think Jery said the offset was similar to the OEM QA and others... and his measured about 3.75in. Don't quote me on this dimension because I am going from memory and we talked a lot on different details. I haven't studied the geometry and kinematics of QA designs but it sounds like this nears the minimum practical offset.

I'll measure today. BTW, my weight was with a pallet, landscape blocks stacked near the headache rack on the forks... not near the end. I have to believe a 2016 BX is spec'd higher than a 2009, but if so, it'd be peanuts.

After I bought the QA for my last B2620, I said nothing but Jery for me. If I bought an 80 Series tomorrow, the SSQA is useless to me as I use no SS attachments. I'd get Jery's QA again just because it's built, tough, has the 2" receiver, has great locking mechanisms, and Jery is a great guy with great ideas, and I'd like to help a great American small business guy out if I can. I'm betting mine would fit an 80 anyway, but the point is Jery's does not reduce the lift capacity like the OEM SSQ does, as well as the substantial reduction due to theORM forks being so heavy. I have found uses for forks everywhere, and the 300# OEM fork capacity (in sure it'll lift more) is not worth the cost savings over Jery's.

One thing I did have to promise Jery... was not to dig with the forks! I told him no problem... I love my piranha tooth bar and I plan to make a small trencher/shovel that can mount to the 2in built in receiver on the QA, with the scraps from my cut down of my (used to be) too long of back blade!

I bought Jery's Tach-N-G for the BX 2230 with the knowledge when I would uprade the tractor to a newer BX, I would have to upgrade the Tach-N-Go also, but the forks would still work. Jon

My first set were all Kubota Orange. I like to keep them in good shape, and maintain the paint with a quick shot a few times a season to prevent rust. I told Jery that painting at least the forks black, would make it much easier matching the paint with about any brand paint. Wouldn't you know it, when I met Jery to snag the setup for my BX, they were black. Soooo much easier to maintain. That was the ONLY thing I could say was an improvement on Jery's forks, LOL. It's so nice to use them and take em off with ease because of the weight. I've been considering Jery's Three-Point Pal, which can hold a rear blade and use the forks on the back. I don't need the blade, but to use the forks on the rear three-point for heavy pallets, or a refuse box when doing yard work, would be great. Best thing is, the Pal holds the forks inverted on the rack for quick access to put them on if needed... they are always with you. Jery can't make a 2" receiver integrated because of his rear blade, but if I get the Pal this summer without the blade, I'll weld in a 2" so I always have it ready like I prefer to use it. The quality of metal work, welding, and paint is better than OEM. You'll see.

I am a little nervous as this was not the cheapest solution and when I look at the pictures of the forks, they look to be open C channel vs. boxed. Wondering whether I will want to stiffen the fork tongs a bit on the underside. Pics might not be doing them justice however. Hope to see them in a week.
