Ammunition

I was in a Meijer store yesterday and as I usually do, walked passed the ammo case and whoa! they had .22 in stock. First time I've seen .22 in their case in several years. It was some brand I've never heard of and was $6.99 for 50. (about 14 cents per round). Don't need any, so didn't buy any. I was just surprised they actually had any. Walmart has had it sporadically on Sunday morning between 8:00am and 8:05am for the past year or so.

I can reload 9mm all day with 115gr FMJ's for $0.14 each. And I can assure you the ammunition companies can load .22 for a heck of a lot less than $0.14 each.

I was at Walmart 11 days ago, 9 pm and a guy walk by the counter, 22s, clerk said no.
I bought 3 choke tubes for my 20ga. in one package for $30.00, thought the price want to bad, got the IP, full, and a bonus extra full choke, guess that's for turkey.

I just inventoried my factory ammo. I have 10 500 boxes of Wolf Match Extra, 3 500 boxes of Federal American Eagle and 2 500 boxes of Agulia Hyper Velocity all 22LR's. When I shot indoor match I shot a lot of Wolf Match Extra but I haven't shot 50 foot indoor for a while. The Agulia's are for varmits on the deck and the Federals are for tree rats.

Thats just the 22 rimfire.

Oh, and I guess you haven't heard ... you don't need a 'real expensive' rifle to shoot 1,000+ yds accurately anymore, all you need is the Ruger Precision Rifle

I don't think much of Rugers in general.

One of the guys who shoot on my range has one (Ruger Precision Rifle), I don't think much of it myself.

I figured that would get you going ... that why I put wink face on it :)

I'm originally from MI. I remember deer was shotgun only ... no rifle. Did something change or is it based on where you live?

Wolf Match is my favorite too (I'm a big Vihtavuori fan). Tried Agulia but my rifle didn't like it. Out of all I tried, RWS was the only other ammo the rifle liked but it was more expensive and harder to find so Wolf was it.

If you watch LGS adds, it's not hard to find Cci mini mags #100 for $9-$10

Agulia is very inaccurate. It's real fast and has a lot of impact energy but it better be close or it's no cigar..... lol

I use it for coon and possum elimination at short distance, like 10 feet. I prefer my 17 HMR but a pistol works better out the kitchen window.. I'm a Hodgdon fan myself, I know Bruce personally and it don't get me anywhere with powder anyway. Bruce is a big front stuffer fan. Shoots CVA's.

I thought Michigan had/has some line drawn across it at some point in the lower peninsula where its shotgun only south of that line for deer. Rifles are allowed north of that line. Don't know if that's still the case.

Just picked up 2-50 rnd boxes of 9mm Parabellum from Acedemy, steel cased Monarch, FMJ. So far, after 75 rounds, all was flawless in the HI Point 995. Price was $10.99/50. Missed the sale last week, it was $9.99. Brass cased Monarch, made by Prvi Partisan of Serbia, was $12.99/50.
