My new 20 ga choke tube wrench

Estimated hours of job completion was 8 hours, but was completed in 3 hours under budget and ahead of schedule. The wrench was made out of old reciprocating saw. I started at the end of the blade that goes into the saw and started grinding from there. A little bit of grinding on both sides and then when done, welded a chain like handle on the end. Another one of my ingenious designs. The moral of the story is I saved $10.

Nice! With that loop you can dummy cord it to something so you don't lose it. Even has a Remington (or John Deere) paint job. You can tell your tractor it's a Remington paint job so it doesn't get jealous.

Cool! Can't beat that. I knew you could do it!

My son's cubscout pack is thinking of doing a raffle for a low price, but nice shotgun. Most likely something like a 20 gauge Mossberg 500 pump, in wood stock. I think they run around $225 or so, right. Maybe sell 50-75 tickets at $10 each. I think we would have to have a FFL maintain ownership and transfer to the winner, right? Anyone have advice on the dealer price of a similar gun; recommendation for a diffrent gun; or advice on how to actually conduct the transfer and contest. My thought on the gun is; something that the largest group (teens, women, men) all would be interested in, low cost, and attractive. Thoughts?

You noticed that, eye for details, I was wondering what color to use, wasn't going to paint it JD color, then looked at the Remington buckshot box, umm why not. Didn't want black, all done with colors that I need glasses to see it, and small chain links makes good handles.

This past Christmas, wife got me a surprise Mossberg Maverick 20 ga. pump, nice shotgun, can shoot it all day without getting a sore shoulder. Some brands makes what is called Youth models, those are a little shorter.

Do they have Maverick models in wood or only poly stocks?

The moral of the story is I saved $10.<<<< Might have to revise that in a few day's. After 3 hrs. of this major choke wrench construction, I reread the Mossberg gun owner manual, again>> ""To remove choke tube, loosen it with the choke tube wrench provided,""< uh, um and um. Well just for the heck of it, I'll email Mossberg see what happens,>>

""To whom it my not concern...My wife bought me the Mossberg Maverick 88, 20 ga. for Christmas this past year, I just read the manual and it says a choke tube wrench was suppose to come with it, there wasn't one."""< that was last week, yesterday they answered back, and I was surprised, they wanted the serial No., emailed that, shocked again, they answered back in ten min., said YES, a tube wrench should of came with the shotgun, and to give them my Address. Tonight got home, check all my fan mail, Mossberg sent me another email>>

"""Your confirmation order number is 409916 and the order ships out within 7-10 business days. Have a great day."" uh, think I will have a great day and the moral of this story is, sometimes contacting a company is worth it and sometimes it's the little things that counts :thumbsup:

Hey, you can't beat that with a stick...

So now you'll have a wrench to keep in your safe or what not and you can take your special Remington colored (or JD) one out in the field without worrying about losing it!

I've found its always best to ask Mfr. first. Most take care of you out of good will. If they are good business people, anything they give you they consider "the cost of doing business".

I've called Hornady dozens of times with my reloading equipment over the years and they never blink to send me a part.

Same with Lyman, RCBS, Lee, Dillon etc.

Heck, Rock Island has even sent me gun parts without asking for the gun back. Ruger and some others won't do that
.. their CYA lawyers make you sent the whole thing back for "safety" reasons even if you're a gunsmith.

Same here. Rcbs sent me a screw for a trimmer I had a couple years.. It had a damaged head.. A defect I didn't notice till then. No hassle.

King butter sent me a missing manual and split ring retainer for the gear is when I found both missing on a new machine.

Lots of mfrs will try to take care of you.
